Periscope brings the ability to go live with guests

Periscope is finally bringing the ability to go live with guest and invite anyone in your audience to join your broadcast. Your chosen guests can be heard by everyone and can drop off at any time. Broadcasters can still read and respond to chats. Periscope says that things get more interesting when multiple people can have a conversation together and share it. The company also says that it is focusing on bringing this to everyone on Twitter and make it possible for your guests to share their video too. In a blog post, periscope said: Our broadcasters don’t just show you the world, they bring it to life by hosting a conversation with an active audience. But sometimes comments don’t say enough and hearts get lost in the background. Sometimes, you just want to say what you’re thinking. So many people in our community have asked for a way to broadcast with guests, and we can’t wait to see all the creative ways you go live together. iOS 12.2 to limit accelerometer and gyroscope access in Safari over privacy

Apple iOS 12.2 beta with several new features including Apple News app in Canada, a redesigned TV remote in Control Center, support for adding HomeKit-enabled TVs in the Home app, and more rolled out last month. However, with the stable release of 12.2, Apple will introduce a new Motion & Orientation Access toggle under Settings. This setting is toggled off by default but must be turned on in order for websites to display features that rely on motion data from the gyroscope and accelerometer in the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. With the toggle on, web pages show real-time accelerometer and gyroscope data from the iPhone. With the setting toggled off, no motion data is shown. This move might be a response from reports that claimed thousands of websites have unmitigated access to motion, orientation, proximity, and light sensor data on mobile devices. Software engineer Felix Krause also filed a radar and notified Apple's security team about this matter in 2017. It is also possible that Apple could tweak how this feature works in time for the public release of iOS 12.2. Perhaps the setting could be toggled on by default in a subsequent beta, for example, or Safari could prompt users for permission to access motion data when necessary as it does with location ...

OPPO patents Find Z, could feature 10X optical zoom, in-display fingerprint sensor

OPPO at the MWC 2019 event is all set to announce a smartphone with a 10X optical zoom lens; possibly the F19 and F19 Pro. However, the company is also working on bringing the successor of the Oppo Find X; the Find X2. But the new patent file suggests otherwise.   Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications filed a trademark on 2 February 2019 with the EUIPO for the brand name Find Z. The last Find series phone before the Find-series was the Find 7a which was introduced in early 2014. Rumors suggest that the new model could come with a 10X optical zoom lens. The device would come with a punch-hole camera to accommodate the selfie shooter. This also means that it might come with water and dust resistance. In addition, the new Oppo Find smartphone will have an in-display fingerprint scanner. Now that Now that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has filed a trademark application for the name Find Z, it seems plausible that the successor to the Find X will be Find Z, but not Find X2. It is also possible that the company might show the device at the MWC 2019 show later this month. We will know more in the days to come. Source | Via

Xiaomi Mi 9 with triple rear cameras spotted in the wild as the company confirms Snapdragon 855-powered flagship

Few days back Xiaomi's product director posted a photo of a smartphone with triple rear cameras on weibo, before removing it. Some users have managed to download it. This will likely be the Mi 9, the company's upcoming flagship. The image confirms vertical camera arrangement, similar to the predecessor, and this doesn't have a rear-mounted sensor, so it will likely feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.
