Apple said to be planning on gaming subscription service

According to reports, Apple is said to be planning a subscription service for games. The service would function like Netflix for games, allowing users who pay a subscription fee to access a bundled list of titles. The Cupertino company said to have begun privately discussing the subscription service with game developers in the second half of 2018. It’s unclear how much the subscription will cost or what kind of games Apple will offer. The service is still in the early stages of development, and there's a fair chance that Apple could ultimately decide to abandon it. The company has also discussed partnering with developers as a publisher signaling Apple’s ambition to assume a distribution, marketing, and other related costs for select games. The move to create a gaming subscription service comes as Apple faces pressure to grow its services business as its hardware declines, slowing down Apple's momentum. The iPhone-maker is also developing a slew of original shows for a video streaming service, partnering with carriers to boost the subscriber base for Apple Music, and is also planning to release a news subscription service this year. Apple currently takes a 30% cut of App Store purchases but lowers that fee to 15% after the first ...

Apple acknowledges FaceTime bug that lets you hear audio of the other person before they pick up, fix coming in a week

Apparently, a bug on the Apple's FaceTime lets you call anyone with FaceTime, and immediately hear the audio coming from their phone even before the receiver on the other end has accepted or rejected the incoming call. However, Apple was quick to act on it and has taken Group FaceTime offline and will address the issue with a software update later this week.  Quite naturally, the bug poses a serious privacy issue as you can essentially listen in on any iOS user just by FaceTime calling. While it still rings like normal, so you can't be 100% cover about it. What makes it worse is that there is no indication on the recipient’s side that you could hear any of their audio. Furthermore, the bug doesn't stop here, there's a second part to it which can expose video too. This bug affects any pair of iOS devices running iOS 12.1 or later. Start a FaceTime Video call with an iPhone contact, while it is ringing, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and tap Add Person. Now, add your own phone number in the Add Person screen and then you will then start a group FaceTime call including yourself and the audio of ...

The new M series from Samsung is all about addressing the needs of the Indian market. Our demographic is such that Samsung has decided to launch this series here first, starting with the M10 and the M20. We'd seen the first impressions of the Galaxy M10, now it's the Galaxy M20's turn. This device, at a great starting price of Rs. 10,990 (3/32) and Rs. 12,990 (4/64), aims to compete in the most hotly contested smartphone segment in our country. I was lucky enough to test the device just before launch and here are my first impressions. Unlike the M10, the Samsung Galaxy M20 comes with a USB-C port and a 15W (9V-1.67A / 5V-2A) fast charger. Samsung Galaxy M10 Unboxing and First Impressions

Samsung has been teasing the new M series on social media for a while now. It is a global series of devices that is launching first in India, and is specifically "Made for India". Well the soft launch has happened today and we have two new devices in the market, the Galaxy M10 and the Galaxy M20. These devices are entirely focused on the mid range segment, which is the most hotly contested in India, no doubt. Aimed at "Millennials", which I think is a code-word for high-demand expectations when it comes to value for money, how well do these devices cater? I've been lucky enough to try them before launch. At Rs. 7,990 (2/16) and Rs. 8,990 (3/32), the Galaxy M10 is the cheaper of the two, here are my first impressions. For under 10k INR, it is necessary that we set our expectations right. With that said, let's look at the specifications. Samsung Galaxy M10 Specifications 6.2-inch (1520 × 720 pixels) HD+ 19.5:9 TFT display Octa-Core Exynos 7870 14nm processor with Mali-G71 GPU 2GB RAM with 16GB storage / 3GB RAM with 32GB Storage, expandable up to 512GB via micro SD card Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Samsung Experience 9.5 Dual SIM ...

Intel patent hints at a foldable smartphone that unfolds into tablet

Samsung, Huawei, LG are said to be working on foldable smartphones which are slated to release some time this year. Apart from these mainstream OEM's, companies like Qualcomm, Microsoft, IBM, and Intel are also said to be working on foldable devices. In-line with the reports, Intel's new patent hints at what the company is working.  Back in 2017, WIPO has published a patent from Intel Corporation for an 'Electronic device with foldable display panels'. The patent shows various design images and a very brief description of the product. This new Intel device unfolds into a big tablet, consisting of three display areas. A stylus pen will make it convenient to operate this foldable device. Meaning, you will have a dual-screen smartphone at your disposal. The interface will probably be adjusted accordingly. Intel has so far limited itself to prototypes with two displays, so at this moment, it does not seem likely that this foldable smartphone/tablet will hit the market anytime soon, but it does show that companies like Intel are also investing in the foldable future.
