Xiaomi Mi Play with 5.84-inch FHD+ water-drop notch display, AI dual rear cameras teased ahead of December 24 announcement

Yesterday Xiaomi announced that it will introduce a new Mi Play series smartphone on December 24th. Now the company has teased the phone in images that shows a waterdrop notch and dual rear cameras. After all, this is the same phone that got certified by TENAA few days back, and was mistaken as the Redmi 7 series smartphone. The phone is said to be powered by a Snapdragon SoC. In addition to Black and Blue, a Red colored version has surfaced on TENAA certification site. HTC to revamp smartphone sales with mid-range and high-end models in 2019

According to HTC Taiwan president Darren Chen,  the company is said to be planning on rebooting its smartphone segment mostly around the sales in the first half of 2019. The company is said to be focusing on mid-tier to high-end models, hoping they can improve its market share and profitability. The company will push its high-end U12+ lineup in 2019 to prolong the product lifecycle, Chen said at a product event. He further stated that the U12 Life 128GB version sales have been robust since its launch in November, Chen noted. The company's first batch of its blockchain-enabled smartphone, the Exodus 1, launched in early December, have been sold out, Chen revealed, adding that the company is mapping new strategy and business model for the further promotion of blockchain smartphones. As for the mid-range segment, the company unveiled its HTC Desire 12s on December 17, and the availability of the same is expected to begin in mid-January at US$194. Microsoft Surface Go 2-in-1 with 10-inch display, up to 8GB RAM launched in India

Microsoft today has launched the Surface Go 2-in-1 with a 10-inch display. It is a smaller version of the Surface Pro design with an integrated kickstand and runs on Windows 10. It sports a 10-inch (1800 x 1200 pixels) displaywith a 3:2 aspect ratio, custom-built high-resolution PixelSense Display that supports Surface Pen with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, low pen parallax, low latency, and precision for accurate note taking, drawing and computer-aided design. It comes with Microsoft’s proprietary Surface Connector port for charging and connecting to a desktop dock.  It is powered by the 7th Generation Intel Pentium Gold Processor 4415Y and packs up to 8GB RAM and 128 GB SSD. The Go also comes with an optional keyboard cover. The company claims that the Go offers up to nine hours of battery life on a single charge. It runs on Windows 10 with S mode enabled by default. Regor launched its Regor 10 Watt Stereo Bluetooth Speaker in the Indian market a few weeks back. We got hold of the device for a week time and came up with a review. Build quality The Regor 10 speaker has got a compact rectangular design with a polycarbonate body with denim-like cloth on front. Ola to invest $100 million in scooter sharing startup Vogo

Ola has announced that it will invest $100 million in Vogo, a scooter sharing network for short haul commute. As per the deal, Ola will boost Vogo’s supply by investing in 1 lakh scooters on the Vogo platform, worth $100 million. This investment will boost Vogo a strategic supply advantage without incurring any significant capital expenditure. Additionally, Vogo’s offerings will also be available for Ola’s 150 million customer base, directly from the Ola app soon. Ola has also invested in Vogo as part of the company’s Series A fundraising which has seen participation from Matrix Partners India and Stellaris Venture Partners. Sony Xperia XZ4 screen protector surfaces hinting at tall 21:9 aspect ratio screen

Sony is busy prepping its next flagship; the Xperia XZ4 which is set to launch at the MWC 2019 event in February. Surprising everyone, Sony might bring this phone with the new 21:9 aspect ratio. It alls in line with the earlier rumors where we have seen a 21:9 aspect ratio in CAD images.  Popular leakster, Ice Universe has got hold of a screen protector of Sony Xperia XZ4 confirming its tall screen aspect ratio display. Though Sony is known to be slow in adopting new technologies, the company seems to be pushing the boundaries with the Xperia XZ4. Apart from the new aspect ratio, the Xperia XZ4 might be one of the fewer phones to launch with the Snapdragon 855. The device might not come with an ultrasonic or in-display fingerprint sensor on the smartphone, instead, it is confirmed to come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor similar to its predecessor. Today the company has announced the Z5 Pro GT, top-end version of the phone with the latest Snapdragon 855 SoC and up to 12GB of RAM, making the phone first in the world to feature both.It also comes with Carbon Black with carbon fiber finish under the glass and has Red and Black accents on the sides similar to a sports car.
