Google app for iOS finally gets Google Lens visual search

Google Lens visual search feature is finally rolling out to the Google app for iOS. Google Lens for iOS landed through Google Photos app. The new visual implementation in the Google app features a live viewfinder instead of adding a photo from camera rolls or snap a picture.  You’ve always wanted to know what type of 🐶 that is. The app requires camera permission and agree to other terms and services. Google Lens can help you find similar looking products, like shoes or other clothing and has a very straightforward interface. Users can tap on an object or text in the viewfinder to begin the search. Points of interest will be highlighted, and results will appear from the bottom sheet. Controls include turning on the flash and opening your photo gallery to have Lens analyze an existing image. Telegram Messenger for Android and iOS updated with support for custom languages, Instant View 2.0 and more

Telegram's Translations Platform allows you to suggest a better wording for Telegram interfaces in any language. The company has pushed out an update which brings equal treatment to the smaller linguistic communities around the world. Anyone can now use the translation platform to create their own custom language packs – and translate Telegram into any minority language or local dialect. To translate the interface of your app, simply follow the dedicated sharing link of the desired language. Sharing links can be obtained in the translation panel. Each language also gets its own public group for discussions. Once a user switches to your translation, all changes you apply in the interface will be applied immediately. Telegram's Instant View technology allows Telegram users to view web pages in a consistent way. The company with the latest update; 2.0 is expanding the feature with support for right-to-left languages, blocks of related articles, image links, tables, nested lists, horizontal scrolling, collapsible text blocks and much more. The new Telegram for iOS 5.1 features around 400 minor improvements. Instagram now lets you send voice messages in DMs

Instagram today is bringing the ability to send voice messages in Direct. to send a voice message, open any conversation, tap and hold the mic icon to begin recording your messages and release the finger when you are done recording, something similar to what we have seen on WhatsApp. Once you release your finger, the message will send automatically. To cancel your current message, continue holding down mic icon and move your finger to delete icon to delete the recorded voice message. To send a hands-free message, open any conversation, tap and hold the mic icon to begin recording your messages and swipe to the unlock icon. Release your finger while continuing to record. Tap to send your message or cancel by tapping the delete icon. If you record more than one message in a row, the messages will be played back-to-back for the recipient. Instagram, in the announcement, said: Starting today, you can send voice messages in Direct. Talk the way you want to be heard, whether by whispering what you’re up to or shouting a compliment. Google to shutdown Google+ in April 2019 over second data breach

Google in November discovered a bug affecting a Google+ API and said that it fixed it within a week of it being introduced. Google says that there was no evidence that the app developers that inadvertently had this access for six days were aware of it or misused it in any way. However, thanks to the discovery of this bug, Google has decided to expedite the shut-down of all Google+ APIs; this will occur within the next 90 days. In addition, it also decided to accelerate the shutdown of consumer Google+ from August 2019 to April 2019. Google testing revealed that a Google+ API was not operating as intended. Google has confirmed that the bug impacted approximately 52.5 million users in connection with a Google+ API. With respect to this API, apps that requested permission to view profile information that a user had added to their Google+ profile—like their name, email address, occupation, age were granted permission to view profile information about that user even when set to not-public. Google Fit update brings improved activity logging, breathing exercise and more

 Google redesigned Fit earlier this year, and now the company is pushing an update with more features right in time for holidays. This new update is aimed at making it easier to achieve your health goals. You can now see your progress at a glance on your Android home screen with new Google Fit widgets. Pin the widget to the home screen to instantly check your Heart Points, Move Minutes and other daily stats. Google Fit now features your last workout on the home screen. When manually logging a workout in the journal, you’ll also have the option to adjust your activity intensity and get awarded more accurate Heart Points for it. On Wear OS which is renamed from Android Wear, Google Fit will now guide you through a breathing exercise to help you unwind and relax. After rolling it out to Andriod, Google is pushing the 'For You' tab to iOS in over 40 countries and 130+ new countries on Android. The For You tab is designed to be a constant source that is tailored to your tastes and preferences. Simply follow neighborhoods or places you’re interested in to get updates and recommendations. The new “For you” tab will keep updated about everything that is happening in areas you care about whether it’s near your home, work, or a city you visit frequently. The For you tab is already available on Android in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and Japan since June. The For You tab is designed to be a constant source of inspiration tailored to your tastes and preferences. Huawei Nova 4 with 6.41-inch display with in-screen camera, triple rear cameras gets certified

We already know that Huawei Nova 4 is scheduled to be introduced on December 17. The company already teased in-screen camera, now the phone has been certified by TENAA in China with the model number VCE-AL00 that shows the image and some of the specifications of the phone. This confirms a 6.41-inch display, 156.47x 74.8×8.2mm dimensions and a 3,900 mAh battery. The screen looks similar to the Huawei View 20 (V20) that was teased yesterday, however this comes with triple rear cameras with AI, arranged vertically. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back, and you can see the camera bump from the side of the phone. The camera hole is said to be just 4.5mm and it is expected to come with a feature a Full HD+ screen with a screen-to-body ratio of over 92%.  The phone is rumored to be powered by Kirin 980 processor with 6GB RAM, and feature 16MP + 24MP + 16MP triple rear cameras. Qualcomm granted preliminary injunction to ban sale and import of Apple iPhone 6s through iPhone X in China

We already know about the ongoing battle between Qualcomm and Apple. Qualcomm today announced that Fuzhou Intermediate People’s Court in China has granted two preliminary injunctions against four Chinese subsidiaries of Apple Inc., ordering them to immediately cease infringing upon two Qualcomm patents through the unlicensed importation, sale and offers for sale in China of the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. This doesn't apply to new iPhone XS, XS Max and XR. The patents enable consumers to adjust and reformat the size and appearance of photographs, and to manage applications using a touch screen when viewing, navigating and dismissing applications on their phones, said Qualcomm. It added that actions seeking similar relief for Apple’s infringement of other Qualcomm patents are pending in China and other jurisdictions around the world. POCO F1 MIUI 10.1 Android 9.0 Pie stable update starts rolling out [Download Link]

Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched POCO F1 running on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with a skin on top, called MIUI For POCO. At the event, the company promised to roll out Android 9.0 Pie in Q4. After testing Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI Beta testers, the company today started rolling out stable update for the phone, as it has promised. The POCO F1 MIUI 10.1 update has build V10.1.3.0.PEJMIFI, is 1.7GB in size and has Android security patch for November 2018. Since it has started rolling out today, it will take few days to roll out for everyone, but you can download the recovery ROM here and flash using updater method manually. This don't have new 960fps slow-motion video recording that was introduced with beta update last week. This might be added in the update.
