Cortana 3.0 with redesigned interface, conversational experiences and more released for iOS
Cortana 3.0 which was in beta since last month is now finally available for all the iOS users. This update brings redesigned interface, the ability for you to have “conversational experiences” with the voice assistant, listen to music and podcasts, and more. You can even setup Cortana devices. As expected, the update also brings better integration with the rest of Microsoft’s ecosystem of services. You can now use the app to join Skype or Teams meetings and also access your calendar, meetings, emails, reminders, and to-dos. The interface has changed a lot since the beta that was rolled out last month. The final version of the app brings just a single tab called “Upcoming,” which shows an outline of your day. Additional features such as reminders or lists are available from a slide-in menu from the right. Despite falling behind in the race with other voice assistants, Microsoft is not giving up on it as it is a part of its own ecosystem. You can download the updated Cortana app directly from App Store.
Google confirms all devices launching with Android 9.0 Pie or later will be Treble-compliant
Google's Project Treble enables OEMs and silicon vendors to develop and deploy Android updates faster than what was previously possible. The company has announced that going forward, all devices launching with Android 9 Pie or later will be Treble-compliant and take full advantage of the Treble architecture to deliver faster upgrades. Google aims to see more devices from OEMs running Android 9 Pie at the end of 2018 as compared to the number of devices that were running Android Oreo at the end of 2017. The GSI is built from the latest available AOSP source code, including the latest bug fixes contributed by OEMs. Device manufacturers already use GSI to validate the implementation of the vendor interface on their devices. With GSI, you can test your apps on a pure AOSP version of the latest Android dessert, including the latest features and behavior changes, on any Treble-compliant device that's unlocked for flashing. Google says that it is continuing to work on making GSI even more accessible and useful for app developers. Source
Facebook rolls out Messenger ‘Unsend’ feature for Android and iOS
Facebook confirmed that it is working on bringing 'Unsend' feature to everyone after CEO Mark Zuckerberg unsent messages and now it looks the feature is finally here. Facebook Messenger now gives the ability to unsend messages so they can remove their sent messages from the recipient’s inbox. Messages can be unsent for the first 10 minutes after they’re delivered so that you can correct a mistake or remove something you accidentally pushed. The button also leaves a “tombstone” indicating a message was retracted. Facebook will also retain unsent messages for a short period of time so if they’re reported, it can review them for policy violations. The Remove feature is now available for Android and iOS in Poland, Bolivia, Colombia, and Lithuania. However, the global rollout will happen in the days to come. Facebook brings the ability to let you remove any kind of message including text, group chats, photos, videos, links and more within 10 minutes of sending. You can still delete any message on just your side of the conversation, but only messages you sent can be removed from their recipients. You can’t delete from someone else inbox what they sent you. Facebook will keep a private copy of the message for a short while ...
Google Night Sight is now rolling out to all Pixel series phones
At the Pixel launch, Google introduced a new Pixel-camera exclusive feature called 'Night Shot.' Google has finally rolled out the feature to every Pixel phone. It helps you capture detailed photos even in low-light without a flash or tripod. Google's 'Night Sight' constantly adapts to you and the environment. It measures your natural handshake, as well as how much motion is in the scene. If Pixel is stable and the scene is still, Night Sight will spend more time capturing light to minimize noise; if Pixel is moving or there’s significant scene motion, Night Sight will use shorter exposures, capturing less light to minimize motion blur. If the subject moves during the capture, the feature on the Pixel camera adapts to prevent a modest amount of motion from ruining the shot. Instead of capturing one bright and blurry photo, Night Sight captures an equal amount of light over a burst of many photos that are dark but sharp. By merging this burst, Night Sight prevents motion blur and brightens the photo, giving you a bright and sharp photo. It merges many dark but sharp photos into one bright photo. The company says that Night Sight is designed to capture true-to-life photos, adapting to the ...

WhatsApp said to be working on Instagram Nametag-like ‘QR Code’ and ‘Add Contact’ features
WhatsApp in the recent day has been on a roll as it is pushing new features in regular intervals. New to join the list is the ability to share own contact info and to quickly add contacts. The feature, however, is not available yet, but the company is seriously working on the ability to bring Share Contact Info via QR. With this feature, users can quickly add contacts directly from within the application. Though something similar was available already, the company wants to make it easier by redesigning the functionality from the ground up on iOS and Android. The feature will replace the current option, so it will be located in the same menu. The UI is very simple and intuitive. You can choose the country where the user is located, so WhatsApp will automatically insert the country code, then you can insert the phone number. Once done, WhatsApp automatically shows if that user is on WhatsApp. If you look closely, it is something similar to Instagram's nametag feature and Snapcode on Snapchat. When the QR code is detected, WhatsApp will automatically fill all fields and the contact will be added in your address book. When you generate your QR code the first time, WhatsApp gives the possibility ...
