After Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi TV 4 55-inch 4K TV price hike earlier this year, Xiaomi India MD Manu Jain today announced that it will increase the price of Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, 10000mAh Mi Powerbank 2i and Mi TV (32" Pro & 49" Pro) from today midnight. Xiaomi blames depreciation of the rupee (by ~15% since the beginning of the year) for the significant increase. The company at the launch of Redmi 6 and 6A smartphones and Mi LED TV 4 Pro series said that it might increase the price of the devices qafter two months. Apple patents hint at over-the-ear headphones that could be reversible

Apple is rumored to be working on a pair of over-the-ear headphones, while the details regarding the product were pretty slim so far, a newly granted patent titled “System and method for automatic right-left ear detection for headphones,” reveals what Apple might be planning. The patent describes a pair of headphones that would be reversible, automatically adjusting which ear cup is the right or left based on how you put them on. The patent further reveals that the headphones ear cups would have five microphones on it that are used to determine which ear cup is which through a variety of complicated methods involving comparing relative microphone inputs. Once the headphones have determined their placement, the headphones could use those mic arrays to pull off something similar to the HomePod, using one mic to capture your voice and a second one to cancel out background noise so that you can be clearly heard. The patent only focuses on a technology that can be used to determine which ear cup is on your right ear for voice detection. Samsung schedules an event on November 14th to unveil new Exynos chipset

Samsung's Galaxy S10 is right around the corner, but before the official launch, the company has now confirmed to launch the processor that powers the flagship. Samsung has scheduled a special event on November 14th where it will be unveiling the next flagship chip; successor to the Exynos 9810 which powers the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9. Apple finally acknowledges iPhone X display issues, and MacBook Pro data loss problem; offers free service

Apple today has announced a new display replacement program for the iPhone X and 13-inch MacBook Pro SSD data loss problems. The company will replace the iPhone X display that exhibits touch issues. Apple is It recommending users of MacBook Pro that are sold between June 2017 and June 2018 to visit an Apple store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to service affected drives. The iPhone X display with an issue that may affect the display not responding or the display reacting even though it was not touched should visit the Apple store or Apple Authorized to get it replaced. According to Apple, some iPhone X displays can experience problems with responsiveness due to a display module component that can fail. Amazon inks deal with Apple to sell iPhones and iPads in India and other markets

Amazon has signed a deal with Apple to expand the company's products on its site worldwide. Amazon confirmed that it will soon start selling more Apple products directly and this will also include the latest iPad Pro, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and Apple Watch Series 4, as well as Apple's lineup of Beats headphones. The Amazon-Apple deal is available in US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and India. Only Apple-authorized resellers will now be allowed to sell Apple and Beat products on Amazon's marketplace. Amazon currently sells some Apple devices such as MacBook laptops and Beats headphones. With the new deal, customers should expect to see a greater selection of new Apple products and at standard prices. The agreement also points to relations between the two tech giants improving, after Amazon removed Apple TV in 2015, then brought the devices back last year. However, it does not include Apple's HomePod smart speaker. Facebook Lasso TikTok like lip-syncing app for Android and iOS released

Facebook has released the Lasso app that lets users create fun short videos that are aimed to compete with TikTok. This move is to bring back teens which Facebook lost in 2018. Lasso lets users record themselves dancing and lip-syncing to music. The app also lets users record short clips like Vines. The app is available for both iOS and Android. The company in a statement said: “Lasso is a new standalone app for short-form, entertaining videos from comedy to beauty to fitness and more. We’re excited about the potential here, and we’ll be gathering feedback from people and creators.” You can sign in to Lasso through Instagram or create an account using Facebook. You’ll have to authorize the app to allow access to your profile page, photos, and videos. You will able to share Lasso videos as Facebook stories, and Instagram stories to come later. Amazon Alexa now available on Microsoft Store for Windows 10 PCs

Amazon has released its Alexa app for Windows 10, while it was available for selected Windows laptops, today marks the official launch of the app in the Microsoft Store. You can download and install the app on any Windows 10 PC with no specifications requirements.  It is only compatible with devices that support Alexa wake word functionality. If you don’t have a compatible PC then you can hit the button within the app to speak to Alexa or invoke the assistant using a keyboard shortcut. It includes access to now playing to control music and the ability to control smart home devices. Video, calls, Spotify, and Pandora are all not currently supported within this Alexa for Windows 10 app at the moment. Amazon hasn’t added PC specific controls to ask Alexa to do access Windows features, but Amazon says “PC-specific capabilities will be added in early 2019 in addition to ongoing feature updates.” You can download the Alexa app from Microsoft Store here.

At GDC 2018, HTC Vive announced that it will roll out the Vive focus to global markets later this year. Vive Focus is the first 6DOF stand-alone VR headset to be commercially available. The company is also making Vive Focus developer kits available to registered developers in most countries through the developer portal. Built upon Vive Wave, the open VR platform and toolset that is unifying the development experience for standalone and mobile VR devices, along with Viveport as its content platform. In addition, developers who bring content to Viveport in China for either Vive Focus or PC-based Vive will receive 100% rev-share from title sales and Viveport subscription in China between April and September 2018. Chrome 71 to warn users of websites with insufficient mobile subscription information pages

With Chrome 71 that will be released in December 2018, Chrome will show a warning sign about the insufficient mobile subscription information pages, so that users can make informed decisions when signing up to mobile-based subscription services. Users will be offered the choice to proceed to the page or go back if they were unaware that they were entering a billing page. Google says that it wants to make sure Chrome users understand when they are going through a billing flow and trust that they’ll be able to make informed decisions while browsing the web. To adequately inform users, it’s important to provide a sufficient level of details within the billing page as outlined by the new mobile billing charges. If Chrome detects pages that don’t provide sufficient billing information to users, it will display a warning sign to the user on Chrome mobile, Chrome desktop, and Android’s WebView. When Google identifies such pages, it will notify the webmaster through Search Console where there will be an option to let it know about the changes they’ve made to clarify the billing process.
