Samsung teases Infinity U, V and O notch displays, notchless ‘New Infinity’ display

At the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) in San Francisco the company has confirmed that notches are coming to its smartphones. Hassan Anjum, Director of Product Marketing, Samsung when talking about the evolution of the displays on its smartphones confirmed that the company has started testing notches on its displays. These include Infinity-U that looks like the one in the Sharp phones and the Essential phones, Infiniy-V which looks similar, but in a 'V shaped' design, and the Infinity-O that is circular, however the notch is moved to the left corner much lower than the status bar. The final display design is called the 'New Infinity' display without notches, which is probably the one that is teased at the 2018 Samsung OLED Forum recently. This will feature in-display front camera, sensors and the in-display fingerprint sensor and use screen sound. Since these are still in concept stages, Samsung will reveal more details in the future.

Samsung Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S9 and S9+ Android 9.0 Pie update coming in January 2019, beta for Galaxy S9 series this month

Samsung at its annual Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) in San Francisco confirmed that its flagship Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones will get Android 9.0 (Pie) update in January 2019. The company is calling it One UI that helps you focus on what really matters to you. "With hardware and software working together in harmony, see only what you need, using and viewing your phone with an experience that feels second nature," said the company. Samsung also announced that Android 9.0 One UI Beta will start later this month in the United States, Germany and South Korea. More countries in Europe and Asia including China, India, France, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom will also get the open beta program in the second phase. While undergoing final testing, beta software may include errors or bugs, and may not include the same features as commercially available software, added the company. To become a beta tester, users need to download the Samsung Members application from Galaxy Apps or the Google Play Store. Facebook Messenger to get message recall feature

WhatsApp got the message recall feature last year, now the Facebook is gearing up to bring the new feature. In the release rotes of its iOS app version 191.0, the company has mentioned it is planning to introduce color gradients, and a re-skinned interface in the next few weeks. It has also mentioned that it will bring message recall feature that will let you remove a message from a chat thread after it's been sent within 10 minutes of sending it. Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A go on open sale in India

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones in India back in September. Now the company has announced that the phones are available via open sale in the country. Even thoug the Redmi 6A 2GB RAM with 32GB storage version is now available for Rs. 6999 from Amazon.in in an open sale. However, the 16GB version will be available on Amazon.in for Rs. 5999 November 14th. The Redmi 6 3GB RAM with 64GB storage version is available from Flipkart for Rs. 9499, however the 32GB storage version at Rs. 7999 will be available from Flipkart tomorrow. New Nubia Red Magic Gaming phone with up to Snapdragon 845, 10GB RAM, liquid + air cooling open for crowdfunding

As promised, ZTE's Nubia brand has opend crowdfunding for its upcoming second-generation Red Magic Gaming phone via jd.com in China. This will be powered by Snapdragon 845 with 10GB of RAM, 256GB storage and comes with both liquid cooling and air cooling to reduce the temperature by up to 13.2 degrees and increases the CPU performance by up to 70%. It runs  Android 9.0 (Pie) with Red Magic OS on top. It also comes with two-sided Red Magic touch game buttons, offers 4D gaming experience with real-time recognition of the game scene that vibrates the phone to intelligent match more than 40 game scenes and DTS 7.1 channel + 3D surround sound. It has an unique LED light strip on the back. The New Nubia Red Magic Gaming phone 10GB RAM, 256GB storage version is now available for order starting at 3888 yuan through jd.com crowdfunding. It said that will continue to collect funding till December 6, 2018 till it reaches 1000000 yuan, but it has already collected 2164170 yuan, ahieving the target in few hours of funding. The company has not announced when it will start shipping the phone. We should know more details of the smartphone in the coming weeks.

Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Generation) Review

Alongside the all new 2018 edition Echo Plus, Amazon also announced a new Echo Dot recently. The 3rd generation Echo Dot makes improvements in design and audio while retaining the same basic formula. Let's take a closer look at it. Design Like the Echo Plus, the new Echo Dot too eschews the industrial looking all metal design. A shorter and squatter version of the Echo Plus, the Dot is surrounded by fabric on the sides while the top is matte plastic with four buttons on top. The buttons let you control volume, mute the microphones and invoke Alexa. A ring of LEDs run around the top of the speaker that turns blue when you invoke Alexa. A greenish yellow light indicates volume percentage. Meanwhile, just like the larger speakers, a teal coloured light bar follows you around as the Dot switches between the four far-field microphones to the one nearest you.
