Samsung Galaxy S10 to skip on Iris sensor for an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
Samsung is known to be working on their 10th-anniversary flagship; the Galaxy S10 line-up. The company is also rumored to be going full-on with the device by including features like in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, triple rear cameras and more. In the latest development, we hear that the company said to have canceled the iris sensor as an ultrasonic fingerprint is enough to replace it. In 2019, at least half a year, S10's ultrasound and new screen technology are Samsung's exclusive. — Ice universe (@UniverseIce) November 2, 2018 Compared to the optical fingerprint sensors, the S10 ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is faster and has a larger recognition area, and 30% of the screens may be recognized. This accounts for something to stay excited about what's coming from Samsung. Furthermore, 2019 is likely to see demand for S10's ultrasound and new screen technology. This technology will remain Samsung's exclusive. The company is working on three Galaxy S10 variants; 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch models with triple rear cameras, in-display fingerprint scanner. The rear lens will include the same 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens as the Galaxy S9+, plus an all-new 16-megapixel 120º ultra-wide-angle lens. All these models are likely to launch at the MWC 2019 event in February. Reports also ...
Hackers publish private messages from at least 81,000 Facebook accounts, Rogue Browser extension blamed
According to a BBC Report, Hackers said to have compromised and published private messages from at least 81,000 Facebook users' accounts. The perpetrators said that they had details from a total of 120 million accounts, which they were attempting to sell. However, Facebook says that its security has not been compromised. Accounts and the data related to them have probably been obtained through malicious browser extensions. Facebook added it had taken steps to prevent further accounts being affected. The account details that have been compromised are based in Ukraine and Russia. However, some are from the UK, US, Brazil and elsewhere. The hackers offered to sell access for 10 cents per account. The breach first came to light in September, when a post from a user nicknamed FBSaler appeared on an English-language internet forum. The user wrote "we sell personal information of Facebook users. Our database includes 120 million accounts." BBC independently was able to confirm that more than 81,000 of the profiles posted online as a sample contained private messages. Data from further 176,000 accounts were also made available, however, some of the information - including email addresses and phone numbers - could have been scraped from members who had not hidden it. ...
Apple said to introduce first 5G iPhone with Intel 5G modem in 2020
According to to a latest report, Apple's first 5G iPhone said to hit the market in 2020. The company is planning on using Intel’s 8161 5G modem chip in its 2020 phones. Intel will be the sole provider of iPhone modems. Intel is also said to be working on 8060 modems which will be used for prototyping and testing the 5G iPhone. The 8161 will be fabricated using Intel’s 10-nanometer process, which increases transistor density for more speed and efficiency. According to the report, Apple is said to be disappointed with Intel, and the reason relates to the challenge of solving heat dissipation issues caused by the 8060 modem chip. Verizon and AT&T in the U.S. will initially rely on the millimeter-wave spectrum to connect the first 5G phones. But millimeter-wave signal requires some heavy lifting from the modem chips. This causes the normal levels of thermal energy inside the phone, and the heat can be felt outside the phone and also affects the battery life. However, this problem doesn't come an excuse for Apple to re-open its relations with Qualcomm about supplying 5G modems. Rumors also hinted that Apple had talks with MediaTek about potentially supplying the chips. But that would be a ...
Worldwide tablet shipments declined 8.6% in Q3 2018, Apple and Samsung continue to lead: IDC
According to IDC, the worldwide tablet market declined 8.6% during the Q3 2018. The global shipments fell to 36.4 million and the slate tablets accounted for the majority of the market with 31.6 million units, down 7.9% from the previous year. As expected, Apple continued to lead the tablet market with 9.7 million shipments that are nearly double the shipments compared to the competitors. The refreshed iPad model with pencil support that launched in late March continued to drive volume although it was unable to maintain the same momentum from the Q3 of 2017. On the other hand, maintained its position as the second leading tablet manufacturer despite a year-on-year decline. Its detachable portfolio grew modestly, however that growth was outweighed by continued declines in the slate category. Samsung continues to face pressure in its lower and mid-market segments as competitors offer slate tablets at a better value. Amazon rose to third-largest tablet manufacturer in Q3. Samsung shipped a total of 5.3 million units with a 14.6% market share. Strong sales during the Prime day sale helped it push back Lenovo and Huawei. However, despite the rise in position, the ...

Samsung Electronics is said to be planning on bringing new voice-assistant features to challenge its rivals in AI. It is looking for help in bolstering its challenge to the industry’s big three players; Alexa, Assistant, and Siri. Furthermore, the company will also share more details about a foldable-phone it is working for quite some time. It will also showcase features of the tablet-sized handset, such as the simultaneous use of three apps. The company has even held discussions with YouTube, and Netflix Inc. on how to optimize content for the foldable-screen device.
