Google Assistant may get new dedicated ‘List and Notes’ web app

It looks like Google seems to be working on a new "List and Notes" web app that ties into the Google Assistant. This would allow users to set their own default list and note taking provider in Assistant. The URL of the feature is live and is also mentioned in a string of the teardown of the latest Google app beta. The web app is very basic and is completely styled with the Google Material Theme. It features two tabs for “Lists” and “Notes,” as well as a bottom app bar. The multi-colored FAB at center allows users to create a new list or note. Since it is Google. the lists and notes are saved across devices. Users have the ability to make a simple list that has the option to mark off items or delete entirely. Lists and notes can be titled, but there is no other real feature set to them. The exact nature of this Google Assistant Lists and Notes web app is unclear. It could be a default option for Google Assistant but seems silly in the light of Google making an entirely different service that does not sync with Google Keep or Google Tasks. Google Keep which is rebranded to Keep Notes recently received ...

Facebook said to be planning on acquiring ‘major’ cybersecurity company

According to the latest report from The Information, Facebook is planning on buying a “major” cybersecurity company and has already offered deals to “several” companies. Though the names of the companies remain unknown, Facebook reportedly to buy software that could fold into its existing services, such as tools for signaling hacking attempts or securing individual accounts. It is also unclear how close Facebook might be to a deal, but it might close a purchase by the end of 2018. As expected, Facebook has declined to comment. With all the negativity going around Facebook in recent times, an acquisition could help Facebook boost its defenses, improve its expertise and reduce the chances of a being vulnerable. This move could also signal how serious the company is about upgrading its security, even if the newly-bought technology is only partially useful. With all the reports about hacks, Cambridge Analytica, trust on Facebook really took a toll and this move should bring the light in the day that it wants. Since this is early stages of rumors, there aren't many details yet, so we still have to wait for a while to know more details. Source
