Google Chrome might soon get new way to share tabs between phone and desktop, changes to incognito mode media notifications

Google Chrome get a new "self-share" feature that provides a more obvious workflow that would allow users to share tabs between mobile and desktop. There is another feature that is coming to Chrome to censor the content in media notifications on Android in Incognito Mode. The Google Chrome "self-share" feature flag hasn't been merged in just yet, so it is unclear when the feature might end up in Chrome. However, the functionality is described in an informal message between developers attached to the change log: "I put together a quick feature flag to start working on a prototype for sharing URLs between mobile and desktop chrome." The flag description found by Chrome Story elsewhere in the Gerrit also confirms: "Allows users to post tabs from Android devices to allow other synced computer to reopen those same." The media notification changes spotted seems to be exclusive to Android and are logical. Currently, the media notifications for content playback from an Incognito tab display metadata like video/audio title, URL, artist/channel, a background image, etc. However, this will change soon and the media playback notifications coming from Incognito windows will be hidden, and would merely show "A site is playing media" with the playback controls. OnePlus 6T launch event rescheduled to October 29, Here’s why

Earlier this month OnePlus sent out invites for the launch of its flagship OnePlus 6T smartphone globally including India on October 30th, now the company has announced that the event has been rescheduled to September 29th. The venue is same - Pier 36, New York City and starts at 11AM EDT (8:30PM IST). India launch event takes place at KDJW Stadium, inside Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi at the same time. The reason for moving the event a day early is due to the Apple iPad and Mac event scheduled for the same date and almost same time. OnePlus to launch new Explorer Backpack with tear and scuff-resistant body, magnetic FIDLOCK alongside OnePlus 6T

OnePlus introduced its Travel Backpack back in 2016. Now the company is all to launch its new Explorer Backpack along with the OnePlus 6T later this month. WhatsApp said to be working on linked accounts, Vacation and Silent Modes features

WhatsApp seems to be working on 'Vacation Mode,' a feature which will no longer unarchive chats after they are archived. The current state of the chat will automatically unarchive whenever a new message is received from that Chat. This new feature will be available in WhatsApp settings when it is released. Muted or archived chats won’t be unarchived until you unmute or unarchive them. This is something that would be really helpful. The Vacation mode is also useful if you don’t want a specific chat in your Chats List. Since it is in the testing phase, the feature is not available just yet. WhatsApp has also enabled a new feature for Android, that allows hiding the app badge for muted chats. This again is a very helpful feature considering how annoying it can get to see badges for muted apps. Google announces improvements to app bundles, instant apps, subscription management and more

Google kickstarted the Playtime, an annual global event series where the company announced that Android app bundle is Android's new publishing format, with which developers can more easily deliver a great experience in a smaller app size since it is a deciding factor for higher conversation rates.  Thousands of app bundles are already in production, with an average size reduction of 35%. App bundles will now be average 8% smaller on download and 16% smaller on the device on Marshmallow devices with no additional developer work. These new savings come from supporting uncompressed native libraries, which eliminates the need to store multiple copies on the device. It also allows you to upload large app bundles with installed APK sizes of up to 500MB without needing to use expansion files. This feature is in early access and Google said that it will roll it out to all developers in the future. Google says that it is using Android App bundle to solve instant app issue where developers had to publish both an instant app and an installable app. With Android Studio 3.2, developers could publish instant-enabled bundles but are still required to publish a primary app bundle.
