Apple iPhone XS Max has one of the ‘best mobile cameras’: DxOMark
DxOMark is out with iPhone XS Max camera review rating it as one of the best with a score of 105. While it beats out Samsung Galaxies and Pixels, it failed to move past Huawei's P20 Pro which still remains at the top. DxOMark scores a smartphone based on a combined score of photo and video performance. Since the scores are not out of 100, the iPhone XS Max scored a significantly higher score of 105 compared to the iPhone X's 97 from last year. This show a notable difference in cameras. As both the iPhone XS Max and XS pack the similar internals, DxOMark believes that it might score more or less the same. While the hardware changes are valuable, the software changes are more noticeable. DxOMark says that during still image capture, the camera continuously captures a multi-frame buffer at different exposures, allowing for simultaneous zero shutter lag and HDR processing, something that is unique at this point. Meaning, the iPhone XS Max is capable of displaying HDR images in real-time in the preview image, so what you get is what you see. This feature isn't currently available on any other smartphones. As for the video mode, the iPhone XS Max can shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second and 1080p Full-HD ...

WhatsApp beta for Android gets Picture-in-Picture mode for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook videos and Swipe to Reply
WhatsApp is rolling out yet another beta update to Android which brings the version number to 2.18.301. This update brings the Picture-in-Picture mode. This mode enables users to play videos on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram right within WhatsApp. From now, when you receive a link to videos in WhatsApp, you can play the videos within the app and don't have to leave the conversation. This feature was earlier spotted in testing back in August and it did take a good two months time to enter into beta. If you remember, WhatsApp has rolled out the update to iOS back in November 2017. Post the update, when you tap the play icon, WhatsApp will show you the video in Picture in Picture mode, so you can continue to navigate in the chat while the video is playing in the background. However, when you switch to another chat, the PiP disappears which doesn’t happen on iOS, so we can expect an update for Android that will fix this small issue. So, if you haven't updated WhatsApp, you can sign up for the beta to try out the feature. A couple of days back Android beta for WhatsApp got Swipe to Reply feature, years after WhatsApp for iOS got it. This lets you ...
