Microsoft Surface Hub 2S coming in Q2 2019, can be updated to Surface Hub 2X with removable cartridge in 2020

Microsoft introduced Surface Hub 2 with 50.5-inch 4K multi-touch display with 3:2 aspect ratio and extremely thin bezels and several new features back in May. At the Ignite the company has announced that the Surface Hub 2S with lighter, thinner, more vibrant design will be available in Q2 2019 with original Surface Hub software. It also said that it can be updated to Surface Hub 2X in 2020 using an upgrade cartridge. This includes the ability to tile, rotate, and enable multi user log in with removable processor cartridges, in an easily accessible hardware chassis on the back of the Surface Hub 2. Microsoft said that the processor cartridge can be removed, upgraded and serviced over time. This will let you switch to the Microsoft 365 powered Surface Hub 2X in 2020. Even though the software will be different, both the Surface Hub 2S and 2X will have the same 4K edge-to-edge multi-touch display, 4K cameras that rotate with the device, integrated speakers, and far-field mic arrays. Google News Feed is now ‘Discover’; gets revamped with fresh new look, new types of content and more

Google last year introduced the 'Google Feed' which will surface relevant content from the web to you even when you're not searching. Today, Google is a major making change to it including a new name, a fresh look, and a brand-new set of features. The 'Google Feed' will be called 'Discover'. Additionally, you’ll also see new types of content in Discover, more videos and fresh visual content, as well as evergreen content including articles and videos that aren’t new to the web. Using the 'Topic Layer' in the Knowledge Graph, Discover can predict your level of expertise on a topic and help you further develop those interests. You can tap on the control icon to indicate that you want more or less content on that topic. You’ll continue to see content from a range of sources on any given topic, helping you explore new ideas surrounding your interests. Google also announced that Discover is coming to google.com on all mobile browsers. This will act as your new mobile homepage where you can not only search but also discover useful, relevant information and inspiration from across the web for the topics you care about most. Microsoft’ Windows Virtual Desktop to bring multi-user Virtualization to Windows and Office 365

Apart from Office 2019, Microsoft today announced Windows Virtual Desktop, which is the only cloud-based service that delivers a multi-user Windows 10 experience, optimized for Office 365 ProPlus and it also includes free Windows 7 Extended Security Updates. Microsoft says that for mobile workforces and Firstline Workers, desktop virtualization makes managing and provisioning access to corporate data and apps easier. It also gives IT options in supporting scenarios such as giving access to specific apps to certain employees. The Windows Virtual Desktop offers various benefits including a multi-user Windows 10 experience, compatibility with Microsoft Store and existing Windows line-of-business apps while delivering cost advantages previously only possible with server-based virtualization. Microsoft Office 2019 launched for Windows and Mac

Microsoft today announced that its 'Office 2019' which is its next on-premises version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio, Access, and Publisher is generally available for Windows and Mac. The Office 2019 provides new features and updates to the on-premises apps for both users and IT professionals. The Office 2019 provides a set of valuable enhancements for customers who can’t be cloud-connected or receive regular updates. The Office 2019 is a one-time release and won’t receive future feature updates. However, Microsoft said that it will continue to add more features to Office 365 ProPlus monthly, including innovations in collaboration, artificial intelligence (AI), security, and more. Nubia Z18S with 6.26-inch Full HD+ display, secondary 5.1-inch OLED display, dual fingerprint sensors gets certified

After the announcement of Nubia Z18, the company is gearing to launch the Z18S that has been certified in China with the model number NX616J. This reveals dual displays, 6.26-inch FHD+ LCD screen on the front and a 5.1-inch HD+ AMOLED screen on the back. This also reveals dual fingerprint sensors on the sides, just below the power button and the volume rockers. This doesn't reveal a front camera, which is surprising for a flagship smartphone. Huawei Mate 20 Pro with Leica triple rear cameras surface in Twilight, Blue and Black colors

Huawei is all set to introduce its flagship Mate 20 series of smartphones that includes the Mate 20 Pro with triple rear Leica cameras on October 16. Now the press renders of the smartphone has surfaced in Twilight, Blue and Black colors. The phone is also expected to come in Green color variant. This reveals a large notch, compared to the waterdrop notch on the Mate 20, probably to house sensors for 3D face unlock. In addition to the f/1.8 to f/2.4 aperture cameras, the phone is also said to come with a third wide-angle camera, but it is not clear if the phone will come with a 40-megapixel sensor like the P20 Pro. However, the phone will likely include 5x loss-less zoom. The phone is said to come with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, powered by the Kirin 980 SoC, run on the EMUI 9 based on Android 9.0 (Pie) and a 4,200mAh battery with support for wireless fast charging. It might also include an in-display fingerprint scanner. Images of Huawei Freebuds 2 surfaced recently revealing option to charge the Freebuds 2 Pro’s case using the phone itself. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 MIUI 10 Stable OTA update finally starts rolling out [Download link]

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 smartphone earlier this year running MIUI 9.2 based on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat), and it got the MIUI 9.5 update few months back, but it was based on Android Nougat 7.1.2, last month it released Android Oreo update. After the Redmi Y2, Redmi Note 5 Pro, and Mi 5, the Redmi Note 5 users have received the stable MIUI 10 OTA update. The new update comes as MIUI 10.0.1.0.OEIMIFH and is 455 MB in size. macOS Mojave with Dark Mode, Stacks, new built-in apps, Redesigned Mac App Store now available for download

Apple has released macOS 10.14 Mojave for Macs, as it had promised. It was announced back in June at the WWDC 2018 and brings several new features, including  Dark Mode, a new Dynamic Desktop with a series of time-shifting images to match the time of day, New productivity features like Stacks, new apps, including News, Stocks, Voice Memos and Home, and a redesigned Mac App Store. The macOS  Mojave is 5.7GB in size and is compatible with all Macs introduced in mid-2012 or later, plus 2010 and 2012 Mac Pro models with recommended Metal-capable graphics cards. Apple completes acquisition of Shazam, app will soon go Ad-free for all users

Back in December last year Apple confirmed the acquisition of London-based music recognition service Shazam. Today the Cupertino giant has announced that it has completed the acquisition. It also said that the app will soon be ad-free for all users. The company currently charges $2.99 or ₹ 249 for ad-free experience. Shazam till date has over 1 Billion app downloads and specializes in recognizing music clips from its large database. It also provides more information to users about the music and the artists and also capable of redirecting users to other sites where you can download and listen to the music. Though Apple didn’t disclose the value of the acquisition, earlier reports said that it could be $400 million. Apple is not killing the Shazam app for Android since it is still getting updates.
