After so much hype, Apple has officially announced the iPhones which broke the news this week. The company has introduced three new iPhones; the iPhone XS, XS Max, Xr which is a budget offering. Apart from iPhones, Apple has also introduced the Apple Watch Series 4. Motorola has introduced the Moto G6 Plus which was long overdue. Let's have a look at the things that happened this week.  The new iPhones have 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch 458PPI  Super Retina HDR displays with support for Dolby Vision and HDR 10, as well as 120Hz touch-sensing. Both these have Face ID for unlocking. These are powered by new Apple A12 Bionic chip based on 7nm platform, first in the industry, before the Huawei’s Kirin 980 next month. The chip with 6-core CPU with two performance cores promises 15% fast performance and 40% lower power, and 4 efficiency cores will offer up to 50% lower power compared to A11 Bionic. It has 6.9 billion transistors, can perform 5 trillion operations per second, up from 600 billion in A11. How will Dual-SIM feature work on the new iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr with eSIM

One of the most anticipated features in the new iPhones of 2018 was Dual SIM support which has been a common feature in most Android smartphones. This feature was leaked in the iOS code base quite a while back, but got unveiled with excellent detail in the Apple keynote. Razer Phone 2 with QHD display, Snapdragon 845, 8GB RAM to be announced on October 10

Razer has finally sent out invites for the introduction of Razer Phone 2, successor of the first Razer Phone that was announced back in November last year. Press image of the phone revealed a similar design as the predecessor with subtle differences, as well as October 10 announcement date. The phone surfaced on AnTuTu last week confirming some of the specifications, including whopping 512GB of storage, up from 64GB storage on the first-generation gaming smartphone, Snapdragon 845 with 8GB of RAM and Android 8.1 (Oreo). It is expected to feature the same 5.7-inch QHD Sharp IGZO screen with refresh rate of up to 120Hz and support for Qualcomm Q-Sync. Vivo V11 Pro OTA update brings 4K video recording

Vivo today announced that it has completed the roll out of OTA update to V11 Pro which brings 4K recording ability. This will enable users to record higher-quality videos. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro MIUI 10 Stable OTA update finally starts rolling out in India [Download link]

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone earlier this year running MIUI 9.2 based on Android 7.1 (Nougat), later it got the stable MIUI 9.5 in June based on Android Oreo as well as new features such as gesture support, Dual 4G VoLTE and more. After the Redmi Y2 got the update earlier this week, Redmi Note 5 Pro users have started received the stable MIUI 10 OTA update from today. The new update comes as MIUI 10.0.1.0.OEIMIFH and is 580 MB in size. Nokia 3.1 Android 8.1 Oreo update starts rolling out in India

HMD Global announced Nokia 3.1, successor of last year’s Nokia 3 back in May, and it was launched in India in July Android 8.0 (Oreo). At the launch the company said that the phone will get updated to Android 9.0 (Pie). Google officially announces event on October 9, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL and more expected [Update: New teaser]

Update: Google has released first teaser for the Pixel 3 with just number '3'. You can sign up at store.google.com to get details on October 9. Earlier: After several rumors, Google has officially announced its hardware event on October 9th in New York City. The invite has the number '3' to indicate that the Pixel 3 series will be unveiled. The company is also expected to introduce other hardware products like last year, but the Pixel Watch is not expected as the company wants to "focus on improving Wear OS" while working together with other hardware manufacturers.
