Samsung Portable SSD X5 with up to 2800MBps transfer speed launched in India starting at Rs. 27999
Samsung has launched the Portable SSD X5, its first NVMe 1-based portable solid state drive (SSD) with Thunderbolt 3 support after it was introduced last week. Thunderbolt 3’s 40Gbps bandwidth is up to four times faster than USB 3.13 – the X5 offers a read speed of up to 2,800 MB/s, which is up to 5.2 times faster than the widely used SATA interface portable SSDs and up to 25.5 times faster than external HDDs. It offers fastest maximum write speed of 2,300 MB/s5, enabling users to transfer a 20GB-sized 4K UHD video in just 12 seconds. It has full-metal body with a glossy finish and non-slip bottom mat. It has shock-resistant internal frame and rugged metal housing that can withstand accidental drops of up to two meters (6.6 feet). Airtel VoLTE is now supported in over 200 4G smartphones
Airtel offers VoLTE services in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Karnataka, Chennai, West Bengal, Orissa, Assam, Kerala, Bihar, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh circles. Today the company has announced that over 200 4G smartphones now support its Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services. This includes major brands like Oppo, Vivo, Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, Nokia, Panasonic, Xiaomi, Karbonn, Lava, Panasonic and more. Airtel has also been consistently ramping up its 4G capacity across the country to serve the fast growing customer demand for high-speed data. In case of non-availability of 4G network, Airtel VoLTE calls automatically fall back on 3G/2G network to ensure that customers continue to stay connected at all times. List of Airtel VoLTE compatible Smartphones
Following the launch in Mumbai, Airtel recently launched VoLTE services across rest of Maharashtra & Goa. With this option, now Airtel users can enjoy HD quality voice calls with faster call set up time compared to normal voice calls on their VoLTE-compatible 4G handsets. There will be no additional data charges for VoLTE and calls will be billed as per existing plan or packs benefits. As of now, only a few devices support the VoLTE option, and it's worth mentioning here that the handset should be upgraded with the latest software provided by your mobile maker. In order to verify the VoLTE feature on your mobile phone, head on to Settings -> Mobile Data -> Mobile Data Options -> Enable 4G -> Turn on Voice & Data -- if you are iOS user, else, go to Settings -> Settings -> Mobile Network -> Turn on VoLTE call, if you are an Android user. Twitter is testing Presence and Reply Threading features
After the controversial API changes, Twitter is all set to introduce new features for its native application. Named as 'Presence' and 'Threading', the Presence features lets users see who else is online at any given moment, while the Threading will make replies more like messaging interface. Apple launches free ‘Logic Board Repair Program’ for affected iPhone 8 users in several countries including India
Cupertino-giant, Apple has announced the launch of a 'new logic board repair program', according to which, the company will offer free repairs for iPhone 8 that are affected by problems. As per the company, very few devices have been affected that causes mobile to restart, freeze, and unresponsive. In this case, the user can avail a free repair. The company also mentioned that the affected units were sold in places like China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, and the U.S. between September 2017 and March 2018. The company said that the issue does not affect iPhone 8 Plus models or other iPhone models. GoPro HERO 7 surfaces in three color variants ahead of launch later this month
In a recent development, the photos of yet-to-be-launched GoPro HERO 7 have been leaked online through product display. This GoPro camera which is expected to go, official, later this month will be available in three colors -- White, Silver, and Black and it is waterproof up to 33 feet as well. In addition to it, the Black variant of the GoPro HERO 7 comes with a display on the front like the Hero 4 line up, specifically the silver variant. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Red Edition launching in India on September 4
Xiaomi India today teased the launch of new Red version of its Redmi smartphone. The company introduced flame red variant of Redmi Note 5 (called Redmi note 5 Pro in India) back in June, so this could be it. Skype removes Highlights and Capture features in a push towards simplicity
Redmond-giant is all set to redesign the Skype app in an attempt to give overall better experience for the users. In a push towards simplicity and familiarity as claimed by the company, they are removing the Highlights and Capture features, leaving the remaining Chats, Calls, and Contacts. As per the company, provides a cleaner and more efficient user interface (UI) that is easy to navigate while still providing all the functionality Skype customers want. It's worth mentioning here that Microsoft introduced ‘Highlights’ feature in Skype for iOS a year ago. Having said that, Skype on the desktop also received some tweaking, where buttons for Chats, Calls, Contacts, and Notifications have been moved to the top left of the window. Moreover, the company has also introduced light and dark themes. In addition to that, they have reintroduced a simplified Skype “Classic” blue theme—adjusted for contrast and readability. Huawei's Honor brand already confirmed that it will introduced the Honor 8X and 8X Max smartphones at an event in China on September 5th. Today the company confirmed some of the specifications of the 8X Max and also shared some images. This includes a 7.12-inch Full HD+ display with a notch and over 90% screen-to-body ratio, front-ported speaker with Dolby Atoms for 360-degree audio, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, fast charging and more.
