DJI MAVIC 2 with removable gimbal, 360-degree obstacle awareness surfaces
DJI Mavic Pro seems to be getting a sequel pretty soon, the new drone according to DroneDJ is said to be just called the Mavic 2. The new drone will still have the signature folding propeller arms, would include side obstacle avoidance cameras. There is also a chance it might feature one on the rear as well to provide 360-degree obstacle avoidance. The Mavic 2 shows a GoPro Karma-style removable gimbal that would let you swap cameras. It might have at least two options that could include a larger-than-normal sensor. Though DJI initially planned a July 18th launch, it now seems to have postponed the launch to a later date. The new Mavic 2 drone looks sleek and more aerodynamic than its predecessor, something we expected all along. It packs the same color, shape, and same folding schematics. The battery seems to be mounted on top and towards the back. Similar to the original Mavic. It also shows a removable gimbal as said above and appears to have a significantly smaller camera/sensor size and a small screen and the motors seem to be larger than the original Mavic Pro. We should know more details about the Mavic 2 once it goes official sometime later this year. Source
Twitter reportedly suspended more than 70 million fake accounts in May and June
Twitter doesn't seem to be slowing down its fight against fake users as the company reportedly suspended 70 million accounts in May and June in its attempts to reduce the impact of misinformation. This new count is double the accounts it suspended back in October. The company back in February assured that it is and will be wiping out bots, not silencing conservatives. It is also taking advantage of the opportunity to restrict retweet-spamming accounts and promote more genuine interaction. Today's announcement comes as a move to control misinformation, and also acts as a definite policy shift for the company. Either way, suspending 70 million users in one go is still a huge deal for the company who is struggling to increase user count. However, according to Twitter's VP of Trust and Safety, the company didn't have a huge effect on banning the accounts as those accounts weren't tweeting regularly. Twitter declined to comment as expected. The company for suspending the accounts started looking at accounts behavior to identify them, determine things like tweeting from a large number of unfamiliar accounts, and how often they were blocked. Twitter’s Vice President for Trust and Safety Del Harvey said that the company is planning to go further in the year ahead. she said: ...
WhatsApp said to be testing ‘Suspicious Link Detection’ feature to fight spam
WhatsApp for Android is getting a new Beta release with version number 2.18.206. This update hints at a much-needed feature; 'Suspicious Link Detection' that it has been working for quite some time. This feature should restrict the spammy links that are being shared. This feature will help users to detect sent and received suspicious links in WhatsApp. The app analyzes when you receive it and detects if it redirects to a fake or alternative website. If the link is found suspicious, it will present a message that is marked with a red label, indicating to you the presence of it. Regardless of the warning message, if you try to open the link, WhatsApp will alert you again that you’re trying to open a possible suspicious link. WhatsApp will analyze the link shared/received and this process will be done locally and no data is sent to WhatsApp servers in order to detect suspicious links. The company is said to be working on improving the feature and might see fresh new additions in the days to come. If anything we might even see a feature that would allow users to manually report a suspicious link if WhatsApp isn’t able to detect one. As said above, the Suspicious Link Detection feature is not available ...
