Samsung Galaxy S10’s triple-rear cameras could include a ‘super wide angle’ lens, in-display and side-mounted fingerprint sensors tested
Samsung will launch the Galaxy S10 flagship smartphone next year and rumors started flowing in months before the launch. Latest we hear is that the Galaxy S10 will pack triple rear cameras, being a 10th-anniversary flagship, we expect nothing short from Samsung to grab all the attention. Since the S10 might come in different sizes and variants, the biggest of all will sport a triple camera setup at the back. According to a new report, the Galaxy S10’s top model could have a 12-megapixel Dual Aperture lens, similar to the Galaxy S9, another lens with a 123-degree 16 MP (f/1.9) wide angle lens, and a 13 MP f/2.4 lens on the other. It is also possible that the mid-sized Galaxy S10 could also feature “super wide-angle” lens instead of the telephoto lens. However, the wide angle lens won’t have either autofocus or optical image stabilization, much like how the LG setup is. This also gives consumers a reason to opt for the biggest Galaxy S10 model. Although, none of the details are confirmed yet, and things could change by the time the Galaxy S10 arrives. On the same note, it is also known that Samsung Galaxy S10 might also pack an in-display fingerprint sensor. Now according ...

Samsung’s Q2 2018 earnings guidance reveals 5.1% increase in profits
Samsung has posted its earnings guidance for the second quarter of 2018, which reveals that it will post 14.8 ( 14.7 ~ 14.9) trillion Korean won ($13.2 billion approx.) in operating profits for the quarter, just 5.18% increase from a year earlier. The main reason for this likely to be due to strong weaker-than-projected sales of its Galaxy S9 series smartphones unveiled earlier this year. Sales of OLED to Apple Inc. have also been weaker than expected, while the growth of semiconductor prices has been slowing. In the second quarter, revenue will decrease about 4.9% from a year earlier to 58 (57 ~ 59) trillion Korean won, says Samsung’s forecast. Samsung has been posting record profits for the last four quarters, and in Q1 2018 it posted new all-time high quarterly profit. Samsung did not announce the performance of each business division. We should know the exact profit amount and division-wise results when Samsung releases its full earnings results later this month. Samsung will introduce its next flagship, the Galaxy Note9 next month. Source
Microsoft said to be working on Movies & TV app for Android and iOS
Microsoft has been moving its focus in bringing out more apps that are daily usable by users. With Microsoft's Edge browser and Launcher striking gold with millions of downloads in Play Store and App Store, the company sure has a scope to do more. The company's Movies & TV app is currently only available on Windows-based platforms like Windows 10 PC, Xbox, and Windows 10 Mobile. However, things might soon change as Microsoft is said to be working on bringing its Movies & TV service to iOS or Android, according to sources familiar with the matter. Sources claim that Microsoft is said to be building these apps to give more reason for users to buy content from the Microsoft Store. With Microsoft having a huge stack of collection under its kitty, the company sure has a chance if it can bring out an app that puts the content in front. Though Microsoft pulled the plugs on its music services, the company stayed committed to Movies & TV, and now these new mobile apps should help with that message. Microsoft is also set to announce that it's joining the Movies Anywhere program soon. Movies Anywhere allow you to watch content purchased from different supported digital stores wherever you want. Samsung patent hints at a smartphone with multi-display full screen
Samsung has been patented multi-display full screen smartphone, and it is titled as the 'Electronic device involving display,' and the patent has been granted by WIPO on July 5, 2018. The patent describes four different design variants, all of which shows a display at the front and rear. The noticeable difference is the size of the screen edges and the placement of the camera. Depending on the design, two or three displays are used to effect the displayed design. Two models have a thin metal bezel on the sides, which also houses the antenna. However, the other design has the display running all the way around the device. The company might be using a third display for this which is significantly smaller and flexible which makes it possible to place it along the side of the device. The third display is provided with an optical transparent layer. The displays are mounted on an inner housing. Obviously, the front and rear display panels can function independently of each other. The Korean manufacturer patented a fullscreen smartphone with magnetic strips. It will use these strips to create an even larger screen area. Similar strips also appear in this patent. Though there is a patent design, we are not expecting to see such smartphone designs shortly. Source | Via
Apple releases Siri shortcuts beta app for iOS 12
Apple introduced Siri Shortcuts app back at the WWDC during iOS 12 presentations, and today the company has finally released the app in beta for devices running iOS 12. However, the shortcuts beta is handled through TestFlight, with Request option that is available after logging in to the Developer Center. Once the best testers click on the request access button within the Developer Center, Apple will notify selected users via email if they're permitted access. Siri Shortcuts is based on the Workflow app that Apple purchased in 2017. It allows users to create a series of actions from different apps that can be carried out with a simple tap or customized voice command. It will suggest convenient shortcuts right when you need them — whether it’s to order a coffee in the morning or start an afternoon workout. At the iOS 12 presentation, Apple said that the Siri Shortcuts app would be available later this year, but it didn't mention if it would be the final version or beta. For now, in the iOS 12 beta, a limited number of Shortcuts can be created within the Siri section of the Settings app. Apple further says that in the initial stages of beta, Shortcuts will have ...
Huawei TalkBand B5 with a pop-out Bluetooth headset surfaces in press image
Huawei is getting ready to introduce a new 2-in-1 wearable; TalkBand B5. This hints that the company doesn't want to give up on the TalkBand series which it introduced back in 2014. The TalkBand is a concept that bundles smartwatch features with a pop-out Bluetooth headset into a single device. Huawei TalkBand B5 pic.twitter.com/lR0KosP3NP — Evan Blass (@evleaks) July 5, 2018 Thanks to popular leakster Evan Blass, we now know how the Huawei TalkBand B5 looks like. However, there no details are known at this moment, but if the TalkBand B3 which was launched way back in 2016 is any clue, Huawei might have made some improvements internally, even though the design looks identical at first glance. Off lately we have been seeing patents and design renders of Huawei smartwatches; we have seen one that is specially designed around gaming and another with the ability to store a set of earbuds. Unfortunately, unlike the TalkBand B5, these two ideas remain just a patent for now. Since we now know the existence of the Huawei TalkBand B5, we should now more details about it as we move forward.
