Reliance Jio signs $1 billion term loan facility covered by Korea Trade Insurance Corp

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited today has announced that it has signed a US$ 1 billion equivalent term loan facility covered by Korea Trade Insurance Corporation; K-Sure on 22nd June 2018. The company says that it will use the facility to finance goods and services procured primarily from Samsung Electronics and Ace Technologies Corp.  The Facility has door to door tenor of 10.75 years. The Facility is K-Sure's largest deal in India as well as the largest deal supported by K-SURE in the telecom sector globally. This transaction marks the fourth time, K-SURE covered facility for Reliance group in last five years and the second K-SURE covered facility for RJIL in the last three years. The Facility was arranged by Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited. Additionally, it also saw participation from various banks including BNP Paribas; Commerzbank AG; Citibank N.A.; ING Bank; JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.; Mizuho Bank, Ltd.; MUFG Bank, Ltd., and Banco Santander, S.A.

Amazon and Vodafone announced that all the Vodafone RED postpaid customers are eligible for a year of Amazon Prime that is worth Rs 999 subscription at no additional cost. Microsoft introduces Google Lens like AI-powered Visual Search for Bing

Microsoft today has unveiled a new Visual Search tool that is built upon the visual technology already available in Bing. This feature lets you search the web using your camera. Much like Google Lens, you can learn more about the world through the photos you take. https://youtu.be/YAjUX-Px6Yc Through this feature, you can simply take a photo using one of the apps, or upload a picture from your camera roll. Bing will identify the object in question and give you more information by providing additional links to explore. Additionally, you can even shop from your photos for fashion and home furnishings. These new Visual Search capabilities are available today in the US on the Bing app for iOS and Android, and for Microsoft Launcher (Android only). Google Files Go gets share tab, faster offline sharing, and file extraction

Google's file managing app; Files Go app for Android gets a new update bringing features like share tab, faster offline sharing, and file extraction. The previous update back in January added the tablet support, offline file sharing. The latest update adds new Share tab on the bottom of the screen, along with the Clean and Browse tabs. The share describes itself as “Fast file sharing without internet.” This enables users to share apps, documents, videos and more through Files Go. However, it still needs a Wi-Fi hotspot and is said to be secure. Google has also upgraded file sharing speeds to 455Mbps. File extraction is already a part of the many file manager apps and Files Go also gets it with the new update. Users can now extract the contents of ZIP files to view and open them. Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 said to be exclusively designed for windows 10 PCs

Microsoft and Qualcomm is said to be working on a new platform exclusively for more powerful notebooks and 2-in-1 tablets based on ARM chipsets. The new processor in question is the Snapdragon 1000 and it is intended for Windows 10 based on the ARM with performance equal to Intel’s U and Y Core processors. Now according to a new job listing by a Qualcomm engineer on LinkedIn, has confirmed that the processor is in testing for various Windows 10 on ARM applications, including desktop, Andromeda, and HoloLens. Furthermore, according to information from import databases, the developer platform has up to 16 GB of LPDDR4X RAM on board and has two 128 GB memory modules connected via UFS 2.1. It also includes Gigabit WLAN and is also said to feature a newly developed power management chip to handle increased power and power consumption. The new SDM1000 could be a "socketed" chip for the first time. The chipset might not be soldered firmly on the motherboard, instead, it will be built-in desktops processors from Intel and AMD housed in a special socket. The size of the new chip might be around 20x15 millimeters and surprisingly, Intel is working on a device with the codename "Primus", based on the SDM 1000 reference design developed by Qualcomm. Xiaomi is looking to raise up to $6.1 billion in Hong Kong IPO

After postponing Shanghai IPO, Xiaomi today confirmed that it will list in Hong Kong first offering a total of 2,179,585,000 Shares (subject to the Over-allotment Option), comprising initially 108,980,000 Hong Kong Offer Shares (subject to adjustment) and 2,070,605,000 International Offer Shares (subject to adjustment and the Over-allotment Option). The offer price range is from HK$17 to HK$22 per share, so the company could raise anywhere between US$ 4.72 billion and US$ 6.1 billion. Even though this is less than $10 billion, which Xiaomi was reportedly hoping to achieve a few weeks ago, this would still make it the world's biggest initial public offering (IPO) in nearly two years.
