Amazon Fire TV Cube 4K HDR streaming media player with Alexa, far-field voice recognition announced
After Fire TV Stick, Amazon has introduced Fire TV Cube, a bigger Fire TV streaming device that plugs into an HDTV that lets you watch movies, TV shows, use apps and play games. It is powered by a quad-core processor, has 802.11ac dual-band WiFi as well as Ethernet port. It also comes bundled with a voice remote that lets you search Amazon Video content using just your voice. In addition to 4K Ultra HD support with HDR 10 and Dolby Audio, it also comes with eight microphones to hear you even from across the room. It supports wide range of devices through the cloud, infrared (IR), and HDMI-CEC, with more being added all the time. "Advanced beamforming technology combines the signals from the individual microphones to suppress noise, reverberation, content currently playing, and even competing speech to make sure Alexa clearly hears your request, even next to your TV," says Amazon. Xiaomi introduced the MIUI 10 globally at the Redmi Y2 launch event in India today. We already know that MIUI 10 includes performance improves, better full screen experience with gestures, better Recents, Nature sounds, Ambient noises and AI Portrait mode. As usual, the company announced new MIUI 10 features for the Indian users that includes option to scan Paytm QR codes directly in the Camera app, Progressive web app support, use quick menus in Messaging and option to listen to songs and videos in your native language in Mi Music and Mi Video. Paytm in the Camera app The Camera app in MIUI 10 lets you scan Paytm QR codes to go directly to check out in the Paytm app. Quick menu in Messaging SMS sender ID and Caller ID features are already available in MIUI. OnePlus announces ‘Open Ears’ community event in India on July 7
OnePlus today has announced the that it is opening up the floor to select community members on 7th July 2018 through its ‘Open Ears’ forum for the first time in India themed ‘Product.’ The company hopes that these community events will serve as a platform for users to provide in-depth feedback about the software and hardware. Post the feedback it collected, OnePlus said that it gives them a chance to implement in future iterations of the software or upcoming products. OnePlus Open Ears is a culmination of its community-first spirit for constructive discussions around OnePlus and the products. Airtel to deploy 7000 new mobile broadband sites, Massive MIMO pre-5G technology and 10MHz of fresh 4G spectrum in Mumbai
Airtel today announced that it is planning a massive network deployment plans for Mumbai as part of its network transformation initiative - Project Leap. During the FY 18-19, Airtel plans to roll out 7000 new mobile sites including the large-scale deployment of pre-5G Massive MIMO technology across Mumbai to significantly boost network capacity for high-speed data and voice services. This roll-out would translate to the addition to the one new mobile site to Airtel’s future-ready network in Mumbai every hour throughout the year. It is also planning on integrating an additional a spectrum carrier of 10 MHz in the 2300 MHz band to further strengthen its 4G footprint. Airtel also mentioned that the pre-5G Massive MIMO technology will be deployed across all major business hubs and residential locations in the city. The MIMO expands network capacities by 5-7 times on the same spectrum and delivers super fast data speeds despite a large number of concurrent users at the same location. Back in April, Airtel had deployed Massive MIMO pre-5G solution across IPL match venues offering up to 3x faster 4G speeds. Instagram said to introduce Snapchat Discover-like 4K video hub on June 20
It was reported yesterday that Instagram is working on bringing long-length videos and now according to close sources to Techcrunch, the company will offer a dedicated space featuring scripted shows, music videos and more in vertically oriented, full-screen, high-def 4K resolution. It is also reported that Instagram is meeting with popular social media stars and content publishers to learn more about how their video channels would work elsewhere. Surprisingly, Instagram is also lining up partners to announce the long-form video effort tentatively scheduled for June 20th. Users can expect a kind of videos you see from YouTube creators which often range from 5 to 15 minutes. Furthermore, Instagram will also eventually creators and publishers monetize longer videos, though it hasn’t finalized how accompanying ads like pre-rolls and mid-breaks or revenue splits would work.
