Asus has officially introduced Zenfone Live L1 (ZA550KL), the company’s first Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone in Indonesia, after it surfaced earlier this month. It packs a 5.45-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 82% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 425 SoC with 2GB RAM or 3GB RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) Go Edition or Android 8.0 (Oreo) with ZenUI 5 depending on the version, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera and also has face unlock. It has dedicated dual SIM and microSD slots and packs a 3000mAh battery. OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition smartphone in India, as it had promised. It was introduced in China earlier, has a custom 3D Kevelar-textured glass back with Corning Gorilla 5 protection, features 6 layers of optical coating, and comes with Avengers logo on the back in gold, in addition to OnePlus logo. It also has 5 Avengers wallpapers. The Alert slide is in Golden color in this edition.  In addition to the smartphone, the box also comes with Iron Man case, one of the six Avenger superhero medals (Hulk, Black Widow, Black Panther, Iron Man, Captain America and Thor) in each box. OnePlus announced its flagship OnePlus 6 smartphone at an event in London yesterday, now the company has launched it in India, as it had promised. It has a 6.29-inch Optic AMOLED display with a notch, about 84% screen-to-body ratio and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with up to 8GB of RAM.  It runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with OxygenOS 5.1, and the company already promised that it will get Android P beta starting this week  It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX519 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, OIS as well as EIS. The sensor is 19% bigger compared to the predecessor. It has the same 20-megapixel secondary camera with Sony IMX376K sensor and f/1.7 aperture, same as 5T for portrait shots and 2x zoom. Even the front camera uses the same 16-megapixel Sony IMX 371 sensor as the 5T. The company has promised portrait mode for the front camera through software update. OnePlus yesterday at its OnePlus 6 launch event in London introduced its new Bullets Wireless Bluetooth headphones with aptX technology. Today it has launched it in India. It has a magnetic resume that lets you turn it off just by attaching the headphones together and resume when  you remove it.  It has memory alloy body covered in liquid silicone, and has a water-resistant body so that you can use them even in rain. Lenovo-owned Motorola has announced Moto 1S in China. This is same as Moto G6 which was introduced last month. It has a 5.7-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display, is powered by Snapragon 450 with 4GB RAM and runs Android 8.0 (Oreo) with ZUI 3.5 on top.  It has a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 5-megapixel secondary rear camera to capture depth information for portrait shots and a 8-megapixel front camera with LED flash. Nokia 7 Plus gets Dual 4G VoLTE support via OTA update in India

HMD Global launched the Nokia 7 Plus Android One smartphone in India last month, but it had support for 4G VoLTE in one SIM, while the other SIM supports only 3G, as we had mentioned in the review. As the company had promised earlier this month, the phone has received support for 4G VoLTE on both the SIMs via the latest V2.22A update. The changelog just mentions user interface enhancements and improved system stability. The company at the launch event said that it will add Face Unlock feature via an update, but it is not available in this update. Hope we will see it in the next update. The Nokia 7 Plus also comes with Treble support with A/B system partition for seamless updates. It was one of the first smartphones to get Android P beta. The V2.22A update for the Nokia 7 Plus is 441.7MB and also brings Android security patch for May 2018.

Netflix adds HDR support for Sony Xperia XZ2, Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Huawei P20

Netflix is now bringing HDR support for Xperia XZ2, Huawei Mate 10 Pro and P20 smartphones. While more and more smartphone with HDR-capable displays is launching, app developers must bring the compatible feature to take advantage of the capability. Netflix has already rolled out HDR support for  Sony Xperia XZ Premium, LG V30, Galaxy Tab S3, Galaxy Note8, Xperia XZ1, Razer Phone, and Galaxy S9. New to join the list is the Xperia XZ2, Huawei Mate 10 Pro and P20 bringing the total HDR compatible smartphone to ten. YouTube adds automatic artist, songwriter, label and publisher credits to videos

YouTube starting today is adding artist, songwriter, label and publisher credits to videos. It will answer those questions with “Music in this video” crediting the one who contributed to the music. The company is adding credits to more than half a billion videos. Not only this feature will give due credits to the artists, but it will also let the music lovers discover the information on both music videos and for the first time on any platform. Users can click on “Show more” to see more detail about the artists and songwriters, and the labels and publishers who represent them, including a link to the Official Artist Channel and official music video when available. This provides more opportunities for artists and songwriters to reach YouTube’s diverse audience. The company says that it is just a start and will expand the scope and quality of data to ensure all creators are credited as completely and accurately as possible.
