LG G7 ThinQ pre-order offer includes free 43-inch 4K UHD Smart TV in Canada

LG today has announced that its latest flagship; the G7 ThinQ will be up for pre-orders from May 18th until May 31st and will go on sale from June 1st. The phone will be available across major carriers and retailers.  The company is also offering a free 43” LG 4K UHD Smart TV for those who are pre-ordering the G7 ThinQ between May 18th to May 31st. LG has introduced the G7 ThinQ earlier this month. It has a 6.1-inch QHD+ 19.5:9 FullVision LCD Super Bright display and it is powered by Snapdragon 845 with up to 6GB RAM (G7+ ThinQ). The G7 ThinQ also has a dedicated Google Assistant button and the Super Far-Field Voice Recognition lets you hear your voice anywhere in the room. It also has AI CAM that now offers 19 shooting modes. It features Stickers that uses face recognition to generate fun 2D and 3D overlays similar to what we have seen on the Galaxy S9. Earlier this month OPPO and Amazon India partnered to introduce the Realme smartphone brand, and it had promised it has launched the Realme 1 smartphone in the country. It packs a 6-inch FHD+ display with 1.98mm slim bezels on the sides and 84.8% screen-to-body ratio, but it doesn't have a notch like the OPPO A3 that was introduced recently. Google rolls out ‘voice remote’ for YouTube TV

Google is now rolling out  'voice remote' for YouTube TV app and since it is a server side roll out, it is not available to everyone. The voice remote' in YouTube TV shows up as a floating action button in the app. The Voice Remote feature will allow users to control YouTube TV by issuing commands like skip around in recorded programs and control the volume by voice. Though this feature popped up a while ago, it never really appeared in the app. If at all you get the feature, you will see a popup in the app alerting you about the presence of voice remote when it's available on your account. Opera 46 for Android brings themes, night mode, private tabs notifications and more

Opera has rolled out a new update to its Android app bringing the version number to 46. This update brings features like themes, night mode, private tabs notifications and more.  With Themes, users can now browse with the personalized look, tweak the color theme and join the dark side or the light. These new themes are found in the settings menu. It also brings the much-needed night mode making it even more convenient to read late at night. The experience is less eyestrain and more comfortable reading in the dark with the new night mode. Most importantly, if you are using our private tabs, there will now be a small ghost as a reminder of these open private tabs in the notification tray. Tapping this notification will close all your private tabs, the functionality is similar to Chrome's incognito mode. Facebook suspends 200 apps over data and privacy violations

Facebook today has announced that it has suspended 200 apps over data and privacy violations. It had investigated all the apps that had access to large amounts of information before Facebook changed its policies in 2014 significantly reducing the data apps could access. As the company had mentioned earlier, any app that either refused or failed an audit would be banned from Facebook. The investigation is currently two-phased; the first step in the comprehensive review is to identify every app that had access to this amount of Facebook data. And second, it said that it would conduct interviews where it has concerns and conduct on-site investigations. Facebook said that it has dedicated teams and till date it has reviewed thousands of apps and around 200 have been suspended. It again ensured that it would ban the apps that are found misusing the data and will notify people. It will also show if users have installed an app that misused data before 2015. Since the investigation is on-going, Facebook says that it will update the progress gradually. Source

Google introduces cheaper paid storage plans under ‘Google One’ brand

Google today has announced new changes to its storage plans including a new low-cost storage plan under a new 'Google One' brand. It is also converting all Google Drive paid storage plans to Google One. All paid consumer Google Drive storage plans will be upgraded to Google One and this change doesn’t affect G Suite business customers. Google One has upgraded the paid storage plans and it now has a lots of options, ranging from 100GB to 30TB for you to pick the right option that suits you. Google One will also give you one-tap access to experts for help with our consumer products and services. It will also gain you access to extras from other Google products, like credits on Google Play or deals on select hotels found in Google Search.
