Reliance Jio to deploy Massive MIMO pre-5G technology in Delhi and Mumbai cricket stadiums for IPL

Following the Airtel way, Reliance Jio has also announced the deployment of its Massive MIMO Pre-5G technology, to provide high-speed data experience to its customers in Delhi and Mumbai stadium during IPL matches. Jio will connect the stadium with Pre-5G Massive MIMO units that expand existing network capacity by five times the capacity in a 30 MHz wide band spectrum in these high user density venues, thereby improving spectral efficiency. The first venue to go live with the Massive MIMO deployment will be Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium where the first match of the IPL will be played tomorrow, April 7, 2018, and New Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla. Moreover, the IPL venues in both Delhi and Mumbai will be connected to high-speed wireless broadband solutions ranging from Massive MIMO, 4G ENodeBs, hundreds of WiFi and small cells as well. For the uninitiated, the Massive MIMO creates 3D beams both on horizontal and vertical planes towards users located within its coverage footprint. Logitech today has launched the first of its kind Logitech MK235 Wireless Devanagari Keyboard Combo, as well as wired Devanagari keyboard K120 under the Digi Bharath campaign which is a part of the flagship Digital India initiative. With the Devanagari Keyboard, the company is aiming to reach 40-crore Hindi speaking people in India. The move is aimed at dissolving India’s major language barrier in technology and focus on working towards bridging the digital divide. The new keyboards in Devanagari will help people to communicate in their preferred choice of language. Xiaomi Black Shark gaming phone teased in first image ahead of April 13 announcement

Earlier this week Xiaomi's Black Shark confirmed the announcement of Black Shark gaming phone will be announced on April 13th and also confirmed that Xiaomi has invested in the company. Today the company has released the first teaser image of the phone that reveals a metal frame and green colored power button. Another image that highlights the design of the phone says that it is the first phone with "X" antenna design where there are antenna cut outs for GPS, WiFi and LTE on all the corners. The company already confirmed Snapdragon 845 SoC of the phone. Earlier rumors revealed 8GB of RAM, Android 8.0 Oreo and 2160 x 1080 FHD+ 18:9 display for the phone. LG forecasts highest quarterly profit in 9 years in Q1 2018

LG posted record profits of 921.5 billion won (US$ 798.3 million), up 82.4% YoY in Q1 2017. The company today released preliminary earnings results for the first quarter of 2018 which shows operating profit of 1.1 trillion won (US$1 billion), up 20.2% year-on-year, marking the highest first quarter revenues and operating profit in the history of the company and highest quarterly operating income in nine years. It expects revenues of 15.1 trillion won for the quarter, up 3.2% compared to 14.66 trillion won in the same quarter last year. This is less than 15.4 trillion won estimate by analysts. Increase in profits is expected to be due to strong sales in OLED TVs and premium home appliances, but the mobile phone division is not expected to post profits, same as the the past few quarters, but analysts predict the the division is expected to post smaller loss than the previous quarter. LG did not announce the performance of each business division. We should know the exact profit amount and division-wise results when they releases its full earnings results later this month. Uber now holds upfront fare amount for credit and debit card payments in India

Uber India has announced that is has started rolling out payment authorization hold feature that allows Uber to authorize hold your upfront fare amount before your trip begins for non-cash credit and debit card payment method for every trip requested. Uber says that this is to confirm that a user’s account is active and available to fund their trips. How does this work? When you request for a ride, a temporary authorization hold is placed on your chosen payment method, for the upfront price of the trip. This will show up as a “pending” charge on your account. If the account balance of your credit or debit card linked to the rider's account is lower than the fare estimate, the authorization hold will fail. You will need to choose a different payment method or add a new payment method to your Uber account in order to request a ride. When the trip completes, this hold is converted to a charge for the final trip fare. Your bank may send you one or more SMS’ to notify you of both the hold and the actual charge. Airtel today announced that it will deploy Massive MIMO Pre-5G technology across IPL match venues, making sure that its customers continue to enjoy superfast data experience on Airtel 4G when they watching the match. Massive MIMO expands existing network capacity by five to seven times over existing spectrum, thereby improving spectral efficiency. "Customers will be able to experience superfast data speeds on Airtel’s 4G network despite the very large number of concurrent users on the network sites at the venue," said Airtel. LG G7 ThinQ surfaces in live images

Last month live images and video of the upcoming flagship LG smartphone surfaced from the MWC 2018 as G7 (Neo).  Now the first image of the LG G7 ThinQ with the model number LM-G710M  has surfaced in live images, which is said to be in early testing phase in the US. This coincides with earlier images and shows the top-notch. Earlier this week @evleaks said that the G7 will be released as G7 ThinQ, after the V30 ThinQ that was introduced at the MWC 2018.  The phone  running pre-release software is said to have scored 252,473, on par with other Snapdragon 845-powered smartphones. Latest report from Korea said  that the phone will feature a dedicated A.I button  on the side of the device, falling in line with the recently leaked rendered images. Patna emerges as top city in India in terms of 4G availability: OpenSignal

The Indian City Patna is now the top city in terms of 4G availability beating major tech hubs like Hyderabad, Bangalore, etc. according to the latest OpenSignal report. Patna has 4G availability of 92.6% while Bangalore comes in at 10th place with 88.3%. The report states that the 4G availability between India’s cities is getting slimmer. There are a total of 20 cities the measurements, and all of them have achieved 4G availability of over 80%. Patna is followed by Kanpur, Allahabad, Kolkata, Bhopal, and Lucknow. Tech hubs in the south and west of the country continued to dominate the top to hold their position in top ten 4G speed metric. OpenSignal says that it believes other cities will soon close the gap in terms of 4G speed in coming months as operator network rollout accelerates. Earlier Navi Mumbai secured its place as the fastest 4G speeds in India with an average 4G speed of 8.72 Mbps, while Chennai secured the second place with nearly 8.52 Mbps speed. The ProRes RAW feature combines the visual and workflow benefits of RAW video, while the advanced closed captioning tools allow video editors to easily view, edit and deliver captions from right within the app. The ProRes RAW is a new format where editors can import, edit and grade pristine footage with RAW data from the camera sensor, that gives ultimate flexibility when adjusting highlights and shadows which is ideal for HDR workflows. It is optimized for macOS and editors can also play full-quality 4K ProRes RAW files on MacBook Pro and iMac systems in real time.
