Honor schedules an event on May 15th in London, Honor 10 expected
Honor just sent out media invites for an event on May 15th in London and from the teaser image it is evident that the company is launching a smartphone and it is expected to be Honor 10. It looks like the company is again focusing on A.I which is evident from ‘Beauty in AI’ caption. Following the trend of launching its Honor flagships around this time of the year, the company is expected to introduce the Honor 10 and it will be powered by the same chipset that is powering the Honor View 10; the Kirin 970 64-bit octa-core processor. The Honor 10 will also pack slim bezel-less design with a 5.7-inches display and is expected to run on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 on top with improved A.I features and enhancements. BlackBerry sues Snapchat over patented Messaging, Snap Maps and more
After suing Facebook, BlackBerry is now after Snapchat creator Snap Inc. over patented Messaging, Snap Maps and more. BlackBerry Chief Executive Officer John Chen has been working to find additional sources of revenue as investors express concern over company's growth. As the growth of the company is tanking, the company is hunting through its library of wireless tech and messaging patents to find opportunities for more licensing deals, and lawsuits. The company is now after Snapchat and is accusing of infringing six patents issued in 2012 and 2014. Two among these are also among the suite that BlackBerry filed against Facebook in March. Amazon said to be planning to acquire Flipkart
According to a latest report, Amazon is planning to submit a rival offer to buy India’s largest e-commerce firm Flipkart who are in advance talks with Walmart Inc. for selling a majority stake. The company is said to be in early exploratory talks to buy Flipkart even as Flipkart closes in on sale to Walmart. It is already well-known that Walmart is in talks to buy 55% of Flipkart through a mix of primary and secondary share purchases that values Flipkart at $21 billion. It is also reported that Flipkart investors Tiger Global Management, Accel Partners, Naspers, IDG Ventures and others are also expected to sell most or all of their shares in the Flipkart-Walmart deal. The secondary share purchases will happen at a lower valuation. It is widely believed that a deal with Walmart is more likely to go through. Back in August 2017, Flipkart received $1.4 billion in fresh capital from Japan’s SoftBank Group, valuing the retailer at about $14 billion. OnePlus 6 will have an option to hide the notch
Last week OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will have a notch and shared the reason for having a notch. Later the CEO Pete Lau shared more details about the screen and the notch on the forum saying that the phone will have a compatibility mode that will let you black out the sides of the notch when in landscape mode when watching videos or playing games . The CEO also said that the mode has been tested with the 1000 most popular apps in the Play Store, and it works wonderfully. Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5A smartphone recently. We already brought you the review of the phone, here we have the battery life test results of the phone. It packs a 3000mAh (typical) / 2910mAh (minimum) built-in battery, has a 5-inch HD display, is powered by Snapdragon 425, has 2GB or 3GB of RAM and runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) with MIUI 9. Check out the test results below. Talk Time It lasted for 25 hours and 5 minutes in our talk time test. 3G Browsing It lasted for 6 hours and 42 minutes in our 3G browsing test. WiFi Browsing It lasted 9 hours and 6 minutes in our WiFi Browsing test. Video Playback It lasted for 11 hours and 8 minutes in our video playback test, same as Redmi 4A. Charging Time It took 2 hours 16 mins for charging it from 0 to 100% since it doesn't have support for fast charging. Standby Time It lasted for 33 days in our standby test. It achieved a One Charge Rating of 12 hours and 38 minutes, slightly less than 12 hours and 53 minutes rating for the Redmi 4A since this has a smaller battery. Facebook Messenger now lets you share 360-degree photos and HD video
Facebook Messenger has received the ability to send 360-degree photos, panoramic photos, and high-definition videos directly in Messenger. Facebook will now allow users to send and receive HD quality; 720p videos straight from their camera roll. To send 360-degree photos in Messenger, you can simply set your phone camera to panorama mode and snap a photo or click a 360-degree photo using a 360 photo app or camera and can share it directly in the Messenger as you would a normal picture. Facebook will then convert it to an immersive, envy-inducing photo which can be experienced on mobile by tapping and dragging the photo or by moving their phone, and on Messenger.com by clicking and dragging. As for the video, users can share a pre-recorded HD video or share from your news feed, or even share a video from one message thread to another. Users will see a compass icon on the right-hand side of a panoramic photo and the videos will also be easily identifiable with an HD or SD marker. Facebook last year started providing more background information about the publishers and articles users see in News Feed. Today the company is rolling out this feature to everyone in the US and adding additional features to provide more context to users. Facebook said that its internal research within the company's community, academic, and industry partners have identified that additional key information helps users evaluate the credibility of an article and determine whether to trust the article’s source. With the same goal, Facebook is making it easy for people to view context about the article, it will also include the publisher’s Wikipedia entry, related articles on the same topic, information about how many times the article has been shared on Facebook, where it is has been shared, as well as an option to follow the publisher’s page. Facebook will indicate that the information is unavailable in case the publisher does not have a Wikipedia entry. Additionally, Facebook is also introducing 'More From This Publisher', which will give users a quick snapshot of the other recent stories posted by the publisher and 'Shared By Friends' which will show users if any of their friends have shared the article.
