Huawei Nova 3e with 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 FullView display, 24MP front camera, dual rear cameras announced

Huawei just announced Nova 3e, the company's latest smartphone in the 'Nova series' in China, as it had promised. It is a variant of the P20 Lite that was introduced recently packs a 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 screen with a notch, is powered by Kirin 659 with 4GB RAM, runs Android 8.0 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.0 and has a 16-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots. It has a 24-megapixel front camera with new Sony IMX576 sensor and beautify features, compared to 16-megapixel camera in the P20 Lite. It has a glass back, features a fingerprint sensor and a 3000mAh battery with fast charging. Nimbus Data ExaDrive DC100 world’s largest capacity 100TB SSD announced

Nimbus Data becomes the new record holder for the largest SSD as the company today has announced the Data ExaDrive DC100 100TB SSD and it is currently being tested with select customers. It will be available to purchase this summer. The company says that the SSD is built for capacity, energy efficiency, longevity, and density and it features a patent-pending architecture, packing up to 100 terabytes of flash in the industry standard 3.5” form factor. It will utilize 3D NAND flash memory providing enough capacity to store 20,000 HD movies or 20 million songs, and is capable of reading and write speeds of 500MB/s. It has a plug-and-play compatible design with existing enclosures, enabling customers to upgrade to an all-flash infrastructure without investing in entirely new all-flash arrays. The Nimbus Data is also offering a guarantee to the drive for five years without restriction. At 100TB SSD, it is 8x more capacity than the largest HDD and offers up to 100K read/write IOps for balanced performance. Like always, these huge capacity SSD's are not targeted to the public but opens up to a possibility. Samsung patent files hint at unique pull-to-expand smartphone display

Foldable smartphone display is long overdue in the smartphone space that makes news every once in a while, but except for ZTE Axon M, we really don't have a mainstream foldable display smartphone. Samsung yet again has filed a patent at a U.S. Patent & Trademark Office back in July 2017 for a smartphone display that expands when you pull on the sides. Google’s new Shopping Actions program lets you purchase directly from search results

Google has introduced new 'Shopping Actions program' as an answer to "where to buy” queries which grew over 85% in the past two years of which around 44% use voice-activated speaker at least weekly to purchase items like groceries and household items. Now the 'Shopping Actions program' is aimed at bringing users an easier way to get their shopping tasks done. With Shopping Actions program, users can use Google Assistant and Search to add products to the universal cart whether they’re on mobile, desktop or even a Google Home device. Google Play Instant lets you tap and play games without installing them

Google today introduced 'Google Play Instant' that lets you play games without having to install them on your device. The company introduced Instant Apps back in 2016. You can just tap and try a game without having to download it first. Clash Royale, Words with Friends 2, and Bubble Witch 3 Saga, and other titles from Playtika, MZ, Jam City, and Hothead Games are first batch games that are available right away. Users can access the Google Play instant games on their Android devices by opening the playStore and hover to the Instant Gameplay collection or simply open the "Arcade" in the newly redesigned Google Play Games app and launch any of the "Instant Gameplay" collection games. However, it is not public yet, Google says that it is still in beta and will open it more broadly later this year. PUBG Mobile for Android and iOS now available in the US, India and more countries for free

HTC VIVE Pro with dual-OLED displays now available for pre-order at $799

Back in January at the CES, HTC had introduced the HTC VIVE Pro with dual-OLED displays, and today the company has announced it is available for pre-order at $799. The company has also announced a price cut of $100 for the current Vive full kit, bringing down its price to $499. The VIVE Pro upgrade packs dual-OLED displays with 2880 x 1600 resolution combined which is a 78% increase in resolution over the current VIVE HMD. The improved resolution brings much sharper text, graphics, and overall experience. The VIVE Pro also features built-in high-performing headphones with a built-in amplifier and dual microphones with active noise cancellation. It also has dual front-facing cameras designed to empower developer creativity. The Vive Pro also features a redesigned head-strap that is capable of balancing the weight of the headset more evenly and features easy simple adjustment buttons for Vive users with glasses. It works with both SteamVR Tracking 1.0 and 2.0.
