Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ Experience demo app released

Samsung has released the new Galaxy S9 and S9+ Experience demo app for Android. The Experience App basically offers a close insight into how and what it feels like using the latest Samsung flagship phones. The company did the same with the Galaxy Note8 last year as well. The app contains a number of videos and details outlining the key features of the S9/S9+. It consists of four main sections;  New Camera, S9 Accessories, Helpful Applications, and Device Specifications. The camera section demos the super slow-mo camera, AR Emoji, and more. The S9 accessories section offers information about the useful first-party peripherals. The Helpful Applications section details about the useful applications like the Samsung's Smart Switch and App Pair utilities. The device specifications offer detailed features and configuration of the S9 and S9+ and also lets you compare them with older Galaxy devices. The app is very polished and offers a seamless experience for users to get a taste of the S9 and S9+. Samsung is hoping the app would make the users who haven't used a Galaxy phone previously would make them switch. Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S wireless charging support revealed in firmware, live image reveals dual rear cameras

Last week Xiaomi confirmed that it will introduce the Mi MIX 2S powered by Snapdragon 845 on March 27th. XDA recently uncovered some of the specifications of the phone. Now they have revealed more features of the phone, including support for Qi wireless charging, making it the first Xiaomi smartphone with the feature. The render of the smartphone placed on wireless charging pad revealed through the firmware could be the Mi MIX 2S that is expected to have similar design as the MIX 2 on the front and the front camera is present on the bottom right corner of the phone, similar to the Mi MIX  and MIX 2. Even though earlier renders showed dual rear camera arrangement in the middle, a new image of the phone has surfaced showing the dual rear cameras with the flash in the middle, similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The firmware also reveals "Shot on MIX 2S AI Dual Camera" watermark revealing AI features for the camera. ARCore support has also been confirmed via the firmware, so this could be the first Xiaomi smartphone to support ARCore. ARM introduces Mali-G52, G31 GPUs, Mali-D51 DPU and Mali-V52 VPU

ARM today announced the Mali-G52 and G31 GPUs and Mali D51 Display processor and Mali-V52 video processor. The new set of IP seamlessly integrates with the existing DynamIQ-based CPUs and other Arm IP. The Mali-V52 VPU enables 2X decode performance, real-time 4K60 video performance. The ARM Mali-G52 is the successor to the G51 GPU and is 30% improvement in performance density, 15% better energy efficiency, and a 3.6x increase in machine learning workloads. It utilizes wider execution engines with up to 8 pipelines compared to the four on the predecessor to provide greater graphics performance in the same silicon area. With 15% more energy efficiency, the thermal output of the device and support for greater game time with even battery-draining technologies like AR. It continues to use dual-pixel shader core implemented to double texel and pixel rates. The new cores will get between 50% and 100% more FLOPS per core. It comes with OpenGLES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0. Xiaomi will remove COD payment for few upcoming Redmi Note 5 Pro sales to curb reselling

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones in India last month, which went on sale exclusively on Flipkart as well as Mi.com from February 22nd, and the company said that over 3 lakh units sold out within minutes. Even though Redmi Note 5 was available for few minutes after the sale opened, Redmi Note 5 Pro goes out of stock in seconds. Several customers, including our readers were complaining that some of the them who got the phones are re-selling the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones online at higher rates. Today Xiaomi has announced that it will remove Cash-on-delivery (COD) payment option for the upcoming Redmi Note 5 Pro sales on Mi.com and Flipkart initially. The company said that this move is an experiment to restrict reselling and also said that this would give its genuine consumers a better chance at purchasing its products. Airtel acquires India leg of GBI’s intercontinental submarine cable

Airtel today announced a strategic agreement with Gulf Bridge International to unlock the capacity on GBI’s India-Middle East-Europe submarine cable system. Airtel will now acquire the ownership of the India leg of GBI’s India-Middle East-Europe submarine cable. The company will also pick up a significant capacity on Middle East-Europe leg of GBI’s cable system and has also agreed to formulate joint Go to Market strategies and leverage the footprint of their respective global networks to serve global customers. Google rolls out March 2018 Android security update, includes functional improvements for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL

Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel and Nexus devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The update for this month also includes functional improvements for both Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones. Huawei's Honor brand today confirmed that it will introduced Honor 7C, a budget version of the Honor 7X in China on March 12th. The invite confirms 5.99-inch display, dual rear cameras, dual SIM slots and several color variants for the smartphone. The phone recently passed through TENAA with model numbers LND-TL30 and LND-TL40 that revealed the specifications. TENAA listing shows metal body with plastic finish on the top and bottom parts of the back where the antennas are present. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back.
