Alcatel 3C with 6-inch full-screen display, fingerprint sensor announced

TCL has introduced a new entry-level smartphone - Alcatel 3C in Italy. The company introduced new 1, 3 and 5 smartphone series along with new smartphones -Alcatel 1X, Alcatel 3V, and Alcatel 5 that were showcased last week in CES 2018. Starting with the elephant in the room, the smartphone features a 6-inch IPS LCD screen with 18:9 aspect ratio with HD+ 1440x720 pixel resolution screen with 76% screen-to-body ratio, protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass on the top for the additional protection. The smartphone runs on an entry-level Quad-core processor from MediaTek (MT8321), paired with 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot. The Alcatel 3C offers an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP fixed focus selfie camera. Both the cameras do support HD video recording (up to 30 frames per second). The fingerprint scanner goes right below the main camera module and looks aesthetically pleasing. Xiaomi takes blame for WhatsApp obsolete error, announces a fix

WhatsApp is one of the most used instant messaging application. This is mainly due to the fact that, it is a cross-platform application and offers a lot of value-added services like voice calls, video calls, multimedia sharing, group chat, and not to forget the end-to-end encryption of these messages. On 13th January, several users, especially the ones with Xiaomi smartphones started noticing an error, which blocked the users from using instant-message with a message "This version of WhatsApp has become Obsolete on 13-Jan-2018" and asked the users to update the same using Google Play store. When users tried to update the app from Google Play store, the app was up to date and they couldn't do anything about this. Later on, a few users reported that backing up the messenger (by changing the date from 13th January to 12th January) and re-installing from WhatsApp website or Google Play store solved the issue. Microsoft Surface Book 2 will be available in 17 new countries including India later this year

Microsoft today announced the availability of the Surface Book 2 in 17 markets including India. The Surface Book 2 was announced back in October last year, and the 13.5-inch model is already available in most markets, while the 15-inch model pre-orders will begin today and would go on sale later this year.  The Surface Book 2 sports a 15-inch display (3240 x 2160 resolution) and it is powered by the Intel 8th-gen core i7 processor 8650U clocked up to 4.2GHz with Turbo Boost and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB graphics option.
