Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra with 6-inch 1080p display, dual front cameras, Android 8.0 announced
Sony just announced Xperia XA2 Ultra, successor of last year's Xperia XA Ultra at the CES 2018. It has the same 6-inch 1080p screen with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, but this is powered by Snapdragon 630 instead of MediaTek Helio P10 SoC in the predecessor. It runs Android 8.0 (Oreo) out of the box. The main highlight is its Dual Selfie cameras with flash. It has a 16-megapixel primary front camera with OIS along with an 8-megapixel secondary camera with 120° wide-angle camera. It has a 23-megapixel rear camera with 1/2.3" Exmor RS sensor, Hybrid Autofocus and LED flash. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back, comes in single and dual SIM versions and packs a 3580mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and Qnovo Adaptive Charging. NVIDIA rolls out GeForce Now beta for PCs, introduces GeForce Freestyle, updated Ansel UI and more
NVIDIA at the CES 2018 event has introduced the new GeForce Freestyle; a new feature that allows you to customize your gameplay, and an updated user interface for NVIDIA Ansel. The company also announced that it is finally rolling out GeForce NOW beta. The NVIDIA GeForce Freestyle allows you to apply post-processing filters to games while you play. Right from the in-game overlay, you can change the look and mood of your game with tweaks to color or saturation, or apply dramatic post-process filters. At the time of the launch, the company has made available a total of 15 filters with 38 different settings. It also includes a new colorblind mode making it easier for colorblind gamers to differentiate between colors and a night mode that reduces the blue color. Airtel, Vodafone, Idea take on Reliance Jio with more validity on select 1GB per day packs
To take on Reliance Jio, Airtel, Idea and Vodafone have revised two of its pre-paid plans offer more validity compared to what it previously offer. Reliance Jio revamped all its plans last week offering Rs. 50 discount on some of its plans and 50% more data in some packs. Airtel's popular Rs. 448 plan that previously offered 70 days validity and 70GB of data now comes with 82 days validity and 82GB of data at 1GB per day. The company has also revised its Rs. 509 plan that now offers 91 days validity and 91GB data at 1GB per day compared to 84 days validity and 84GB data previously. Vodafone has revised its Rs. 458 plan with 84 days validity along with 84GB data at 1GB per day compared to 70 days validity and 70GB data previously. The Rs. 509 that previously came with 84 days validity now offers 91 days validity and 91GB data at 1GB per day. Revised packs have gone live only in select circles. Intel announces 8th Gen Intel Core processors with Radeon RX Vega M Graphics
Intel today at the CES 2018 has introduced 8th Gen Core processors with Radeon RX Vega M Graphics crafted for gamers. It brings together the Intel quad-core CPU, Radeon RX Vega M graphics and 4GB of dedicated HBM2 using Intel’s Embedded Multi-Die Interconnect Bridge (EMIB) technology. The new 8th Gen Intel Core processor will come in two configurations; 8th Gen Intel Core processor with Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics (65W total package power) and 8th Gen Intel Core processor with Radeon RX Vega M GH Graphics (100W total package power). LG introduces world’s first 65-inch UHD rollable OLED TV
LG Display has introduced worlds first 65-inch UHD rollable OLED TV at the CES 2018. This comes four years after its first 18-inch OLED screen. Last week it introduced world’s first 88-inch 8K OLED display. The new 65-inch UHD rollable OLED display can be rolled up and hidden when not in use so that it can be easily moved and stored, allowing for better space utilization. LG says that it offers bright, high-resolution content. The company has also introduced new Crystal Sound OLED displays from the current 2.1 channel sound to 3.1 channel sound that makes sound emanate directly from the panel. The Crystal Sound technology enables the display surface itself to emanate more realistic, richer sound than speakers can. This has also been expanded to LCD products such as notebooks and monitors. LG Display said that it will first incorporate this technology into gaming products, and will thereafter provide solutions tailored to the characteristics of each product category. LG Display will showcase all these new products at the Las Vegas Convention Center during CES 2018 this week.
Samsung introduces Q9S 85-inch 8K QLED TV with AI technology at CES 2018
Samsung along with 'The Wall' 146-inch modular TV has also introduced the new Q9S 85-inch 8K QLED TV with AI technology at the CES event. The new 8K AI technology is based on machine learning which analyzes the content and automatically upscales low-resolution images into 8K picture quality. The new 8K AI technology transform all pictures into 8K regardless of native resolution or method of transmission. Though the market is flooded with 8K and UHD TVs, the content that best matches the high-resolution screens isn't available. However, the Samsung's AI technology is a sign of relief. The QLED TV is equipped with a database that studies and analyzes millions of images in advance to transform low-resolution content into high-resolution. When any low-resolution image is sourced, QLED TV selects the optimal filter and converts the source into a high-quality image. It increases the image processing 64 times without compromising gradation. It categorizes elements of sourced picture quality through black/blooming/brightness by scene to produce pictures with richer and more detailed contrast. It automatically optimizes the picture quality to specific scenes, without having to change any settings.
