How to Update Lava Iris Pro 30 Android 4.4.2 Kitkat Software/Firmware

Lava launched their flagship Iris Pro 30 phone in India recently. It sports Nexus 4 alike specs and its priced in the range of budget. Iris Pro 30 Android 4.4 Kitkat can be installed on your device.

Lava Iris Pro 30 will not get official Android 4.4 Kitkat update and that's why they should depend on custom firmware. Android 4.4 Kitkat is the latest version of Google's mobile OS launched recently with Nexus 5. When 4.4 Kitkat is available on your device, you will receive notification, but if you haven't you can push for manual update check. You can go through Settings > About phone and download it officially. We will be going through update instructions in this guide but before that some pre upgrade requirements.
  • You will also have to root your Lava Iris Pro 30 to prepare it for Android 4.4 Kitkat upgrade.
  • Just before beginning to upgrade your Lava Iris Pro 30 to Android 4.4 Kitkat don’t forget to backup your information, as contacts, text messages and the apps installed from Google Play Store who maybe lost when the installation finishes.
  • USB debugging should be enabled on your device.
  • Your phone should have ClockWorkMod Recovery Installed.

Now let’s see how to update Lava Iris Pro 30 to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat -
  1. Download Lava Iris Pro 30 Android 4.4 Firmware package to your PC first.
  2. Install the ROM Manager on your Lava Iris Pro 30. Get it from Google Play Store, then install the clockwork mod recovery.
  3. Connect your Lava Iris Pro 30 to your PC employing the USB information cable. Copy the “Lava Iris Pro 30_4.4 Kitkat.zip” file you downloaded to the SD memory card.
  4. Restart your device in the recovery mode using ROM Manager. As soon as in Recovery Mode, go to ROM Manager and select backup / restore to back-up your information.
  5. From the Recovery Menu do a total data erase (including Delvik Cache).
  6. When completed, Go back to Recovery Menu and choose Flash ROM from SD Card. Navigate the location you copied the ”Lava Iris Pro 30_4.4 Kitkat.zip” file and follow the directions for installing Android 4.4 Kitkat on your Lava Iris Pro 30.
  7. Once done hit "Reboot system now" to boot your device normally.
As soon as the installation is over, just reboot your Lava Iris Pro 30 device, and here you go, you’ve just upgraded it to the new Android 4.4 Kitkat.
